Some stats on national pride (and shame) in #Canada, from the 2023 @ISSP_survey on national identity and citizenship
Working on it now!
#ISSPGM24 is finalizing the 5th edition of the ISSP Work Orientations module with exciting new items on emerging topics like Experiences with #work transformation in the #digital age and Attitudes toward the #digitalization of work. Questionnaire release in Autumn💥
The 2024 @ISSP_survey General Assembly has begun in beautiful #CoogeeBeach, #Sydney, #Australia! On the agenda is finalizing the 2025 Work Orientation survey module.
88% of #Canadian respondents in the 2023 @ISSP_survey say that, in order to be a good #citizen, it is important or very important to keep watch on the actions of #government
Now that the 2023 @ISSP_survey #Canada data on #nationalidentity and #citizenship are available, time to make some interesting comparisons with the first time this survey module was run in 1995. First up are attitudes towards #democracy in Canada:
The first round of cleaning for Canada's 2023 National Identity and Citizenship ISSP survey is now complete. If you're a Canadian researcher interested in accessing the Canada only 2023 dataset prior to the ISSP release, then please email me: [email protected]
We`ve launched the 2023 National Identity and Citizenship ISSP module in Canada! A big thank you to the Statistical Consulting and Survey Research Unit @UWaterloo and @ProbitInc for their support in running the survey.

(1/2) The last time #Canada was included in the @ISSP_survey’s national identity module was in 2003. In that year, 42% of #Canadian respondents said that it was fairly or very important to be a #Christian to be truly Canadian.
(2/2) This measure of Christian #nationalism will be included again in the 2023 ISSP survey that we’re running in Canada this fall, and it will be interesting to see how people’s answers to this question have changed over the past 20 years.
We've got a great team helping run the @ISSP_survey in Canada! Leading the charge is principal investigator @swilk033, associate professor in @SOCLSUW @UWaterloo and expert in social #statistics and #sociology of #religion
