“There’s no point at all in being the richest, skinniest, least wrinkled person in the cemetery.” Give thanks to God for today and don’t worry about the opinions of others. 👇👇👇
If working with sick dogs has taught me anything in life it is that we should all try and live in the moment and do more of what we enjoy. When I was in ICU battling for my life after depression and addiction I told myself if I got another chance I wouldn’t ever be afraid of failure ever again and I’d forget about possessions and the traditional things the world tells us we need to have or do in order to be happy. All I could think of was either teaching sport to kids or spending time with dogs. I had no idea that change in outlook would lead me to being with dogs in the way I am now and having such a mission. Its really hard being caught up in the rat race of life with bills, traffic, health issues, social expectations, stress, anxiety, addiction, missed opportunities, lack of options and every other thing that life throws at us all. I feel so blessed to be able to do what I do. The only small bit of advice I can give is to try and do more of what you love as soon as you can. It could be learning photography, traveling to a new country, getting a dog, opening a cafe or playing sports you loved when younger. Just try and be kind to yourself and do more of what you love. Big love ❤️

I had a new roof put on last week. Just for fun called my insurance company and said I’m looking for a new rate. Thought I’d call my current one with insane costs @LibertyMutual, just for fun. Their price went from $3200 to $1600! 🤨 Now calling 5 other companies to compare.

I am so thankful I bought a home in the country that is not part of any HOA and never could be. I just heard a board in NC raised the monthly fees from $158 5 years ago to $2500 a MONTH! Those poor people must be beside themselves. 😢 no one would buy their homes if they left

PADRE PIO'S WAYS TO STAY CLOSE TO YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL 1. Keep him always before your mind’s eyePadre Pio urged his spiritual children to form the habit of frequently remembering their guardian angel’s presence. “Keep him always before your mind’s eye,” he wrote. This constant awareness turns ordinary moments into opportunities for companionship with the angel who never leaves us from the cradle to the grave. 2. Thank him, pray to him, and confide in him Treat your guardian angel as a true friend and brother. Thank him for his protection, pray to him regularly, and open your heart by confiding your sufferings and needs. Padre Pio emphasized that the angel is always ready to listen and console, and that he offers our good actions and pure desires to God. 3. Respect him and invoke him especially in difficulty Be careful not to offend the purity of his gaze. Approach him with reverence, and turn to him confidently in moments of anguish or temptation. “Invoke your guardian angel that he will illuminate you and will guide you,” Padre Pio advised. “God has given him to you for this reason. Therefore use him!”

No photograph of St. Charbel was ever taken during his lifetime. The holy hermit, who died on Christmas Eve in 1898, lived in deep seclusion at the Hermitage of St. Peter and St. Paul in Annaya, Mount Lebanon. Only his fellow monks ever saw his face. More than 50 years later, on May 8, 1950, coincidentally the saint’s birthday.... four Maronite priests from Scranton, Pennsylvania, made a pilgrimage to the Monastery of St. Maroun in Annaya. Father George Webby took a photo of the group standing with a guard outside the monastery. When the film was developed, an unexpected figure appeared in the middle of the picture: an elderly monk with a white beard. Father Webby immediately showed the photograph to the elderly monks at the monastery. Without hesitation, they identified the man as St. Charbel. That image became the basis for every portrait and photo of the saint that followed, including those displayed in St. Peter’s Basilica during his beatification and canonization. The mysterious appearance remains one of the most well-known signs associated with the humble Lebanese hermit whose intercession continues to bring healing to many. Saint Charbel, pray for us!

How St. Catherine of Siena Turned Cooking Into a Prayer Most people know St. Catherine of Siena for her mystical visions, her fearless letters to popes, and her profound love for Christ. But one of the most beautiful lessons she teaches happened not in a chapel—but in a kitchen. Long before she became a Doctor of the Church, Catherine helped her family with ordinary household chores. She swept floors, baked bread, prepared meals, kindled the fire, and performed the simplest tasks with extraordinary love. What made these ordinary duties extraordinary? She turned them into prayer. St. Francis de Sales describes how Catherine worked in her father's kitchen: "She kindled the fire, turned the spit, baked the bread, cooked the dinner, and did all the most menial offices in a loving spirit which looked through all things straight to God." For Catherine, cooking was never merely cooking. She imagined that every meal she prepared was for Jesus Himself. She saw her father as representing God the Father. She saw her mother as the Blessed Virgin Mary. She saw her brothers as the Apostles. In serving her family, she believed she was serving the entire heavenly court. Every loaf of bread she baked... Every pot she stirred... Every fire she lit... Became an act of love offered to God. She understood what St. Paul meant when he wrote: "Whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31) This is a powerful reminder for all of us. Holiness is not found only in churches, monasteries, or hours spent in prayer. Holiness can also be found in the kitchen... While washing dishes. Preparing dinner. Changing diapers. Cleaning the house. Going to work. Caring for our family. When these ordinary tasks are done with love and offered to God, they become acts of worship. St. Catherine teaches us that every duty—no matter how humble—can become a prayer when it is done for the love of Christ. The path to sainthood is often found not in extraordinary moments, but in doing ordinary things with extraordinary love. St. Catherine of Siena, Doctor of the Church, pray for us! 🙏✝️

So, a shipment of crickets for the lizard arrived via FedEx today. It was my first time ordering bulk crickets off the internet, and I naively assumed that they would be in like, a bag or some other contraption to facilitate easy transfer to another container. They were not.
