TO ME Shane and Troy’s dynamic is similar to Sokka and Zuko having that one convo where Sokka is like “my gf turned into the moon” and zuko is like “that’s rough buddy” and Shane/troy could be either one at any given moment

That was not OPs point tho. The reality is that a great number of Troy Bashing fics are written by people who have not read the books and write him out of bad faith headcanons. And those are the fics showing up when someone who likes Troy/Harris wants a fic to read.

As someone who did read those books, and who doesn't hate Troy, his redemption does still come too quickly in Role Model. He feels guilty, but Wyatt is accepting he's all better chapter 1. Harris immediately tells you he's not that bad. He was laughing at Dallas Kent's stories.

YOU think his redemption comes too quickly. It's Your personal Opinion™ that is perfectly valid but that is not the one and only canon interpretation. You'll find that a lot more Troy fans are open to have nuanced discussions about him when you're not defending bashing fanfic

And by "defending" I simply mean that OP was just letting out their frustration about people who haven't read the books and hate Troy being so present in a tag that's meant to be for people who actually like it. It was not really the time for a character analysis

I'm telling you all: Do yourself a favour, go to the tag and mute the authors. A lot of them post more than one fic under the same tag and by muring them you preemptively keep them away from your regular scrolling.
