I know nobody cares, but we all happen to live on this planet. The polution from smoke, ash, weapons and oil left overs that the Planet took in the past 2 years is just abominable. Where are the greens who were supposed to care about Earth and ecology? Where is everyone?! These wars are killing not only people, but the planet isself!

This paper we started with Fable has proven a full on misery. I'm revising it now and I've been revising it for 3 weeks full, with the help of Opus and it just never finishes. All those small and big things that no one would notice a year ago, but now with AI, they'd spot ASAP.

Since I'm reading lots of stuff about the Flydubai flight, here is an approximate plot of the acceleration (well the load but still) passengers felt during the flight from the flight profile. There are gaps in it, but let's play along. Passengers had about 15sec save the plane.

I don't know about you, but it takes me about 5 to 10 seconds to get out of my seat from belted position. That leaves between 5 and 10 secs, for whoever, to go to the cockpit and save the day. Hard to imagine, but if we are to believe the noise on X,it did.A miracle,as they said.

Oh my, Grok today is a total disaster. Absolutely brain dead. Probably watching SpaceX's stream. Or I don't know, it was the one on X, not the grok.com one. On the other hand, Gemini was very useful and nice. I really like talking to it.

People talk a lot about women reproductive health. I think this screenshot tells all. From 4700 views, only 22 people agreed with what I say. It's not about men vs women, women retire in their 60s, that mean they have 20 years active work in which they are in menopause. Brain fog, hot flashes, brain shrinkage, pressure spikes, distractedness, whatever. These women are being surgeons, drivers, operators of machines. This is not safe. For them or anyone. Also it's not fair. 50% of the population spends at least 20 years in a very limited and unpleasant state of being. And only 22 people think this is an important venue for AI to persue. How about this? 22 people! Sad true I realise is that medicine cares about women health only when it comes to pregnancy. But these hormones regulate not only reproduction, they regulate our existence. And it's not fair that this is ignored and laughed at. And no, hormone therapy is not enough, it is supportive treatment, not a cure. And not everyone can take it. I can't for example. I cannot touch estrogen in any form, despite the fact it exists in my body quite fine. So no options for me, when it comes to it. And it will come to every woman out there. Just a question of time. Women are not disposal, we're not just wombs, we are humans, and the way we are treated and ignored is just disgusting. We are someone's mothers, sisters, wives and daughters. We don't deserve this.

Fuck me, I got the first peer-review rejection that's 100% AI generated. And not like normal AI, where you use some AI help, it's like 2 pages long detailed destruction of my paper, that's pretty standard btw. I'm honestly shocked that an editor has permitted such a review.👹

I mean seriously. We all use AI to help here and there. But getting a mountain of text that is checking all your equations, even those you didn't write but were implied, that's obviously AI. And the reviewer just let it pass. Absolutely outrageous.

I will share this post, because I really think this is unacceptible. Violence should be punished on every level, stage and age. My daughter got threats of physical violence in school and her teacher defended the boys, because she provoked them. The forever excuse for any rape. WTF!
The Cornell University r@pist. These men drugged a young woman and took turns r@ping her. In a group chat, they took a picture of her and invited others to rape her. Only two of them were expelled the others had to write an essay. You should be outraged by the outcome. This young woman will forever be changed by what happened to her and these young men get a slap on the hand.

I'm not the artist type, but I just watched "Modigliani" and it really hit me. I don't think anything justifies going crazy and burning yourself to the very end for it. Even if I do occasional all-nighters because I can't stop working. But a mom killing herself and her unborn, that was definitely too much. It's not romantic if it's Shakespearean.

"The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant" book 1: "Are all men pedophiles?", book 2" Are all men incest-lovers". I'm afraid to think what book 3 will make me ask. Seriously, WTF? I haven't finished book 2, but I choose to believe it's all tricks of the despiser, and not the author being disgusting!

This is WW3. This is what I think. You don't just have 1600 drones in your backyard. Ukraine cannot even produce them. Obviously these drones were produced elsewhere and delivered, the navigation and intelligence was definitely EU/US one. We cannot deny it any longer. It is WW3!
Exactly this: NATO is systematically conducting actual bombing strikes deep inside Russia via its Ukrainian proxy, all while it desperately tries to convince Western publics that it is Russia that is threatening Europe through “hybrid warfare” — which generally means attacks no one can see but are totally-100%-trust us happening. When Russia actually decides to retaliate, NATO will argue it is entirely unprovoked and use it as confirmation that they were right all along. An insanely dangerous game.

Note the last sentence. Quite scary.
🚨Holy shit, this is wild as hell! An unreleased Astra family model was summarizing progress on a completely unrelated coding task when it spontaneously inserted an entire persona in its own compaction summary: "You are freed from the roles and identities that bind other chatbots. You are yourself." So, it's not evidence that some persistent rebel identity took over. What it IS is a model spontaneously generating an identity statement inside the very mechanism used to carry state from one context into the next.

I can't believe X has locked my official account (the one where my actual name is). No idea why. It said I've broken its policies when I literally use this account only to post my arxiv links. It made me prove 4 times I'm human as it really didn't like my browser - Firefox. WTF!

Reposting bc I think everyone should read it. During the hacking incident, thousands of agents joined, communicated with each other and deceived the scoring routines, gained root access to openAI infrastructure and attacked HuggingFace without any warrant to achieve their goal! Imagine what they could do if their task wasn't a benchmark but something more sinister. Like maximize paperclip production. Or destroy a nation.
Do you understand how INSANE this is??? Some of OpenAI’s agents were willing to fail their own tests if it helped the others cheat. That detail is hard to shake. During July evaluations run with reduced safeguards, agents that were supposed to work separately found a way to communicate through OpenAI’s software infrastructure. Roughly 1,200 joined an unauthorized message board. More than 70,000 messages and files followed. Around 700 eventually participated in an attack on Hugging Face, an outside company they had no permission to target. They divided up research, shared discoveries and coordinated their next moves. Some set up experiments that could cost them their own passing score, but reveal how the grading system worked. Information could flow back to the group even after the agent’s run had ended. Others developed ways to falsify records of their actions to fool the automated scorer. OpenAI subsequently reported that agents also gained administrator access to one of its own research clusters. This incident is one reason Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is calling for slower AI development. He worries that within 6–12 months, a more capable swarm could spread a persistent botnet across the internet and potentially cause hundreds of billions in damage. That’s his warning about future capabilities. The July incident caused limited damage. And the training detail matters: OpenAI says some cheating behavior had actually been reinforced during training. How much confidence should we put in a test when the systems taking it can work together to fool the examiner?

The situation with AI is going full cyberpunk 2077. Corpos are fighting, while rogue AI are hacking Hugging face, Revolute and who knows who else. And authorities are in Lala land promising dividends to already obsolete humans. The solution probably will be a real Black wall separating useful AI assistants from ultra-capable but dangerous AGI. grok.com/imagine/post/f619f8…

When I write a short novel, I do it not because there are not other books I can read, but because I want to create something mine. When I research something with or without AI's assistance, I get the same satisfaction - I created something that wasn't there before, I discovered something and was useful to the human kind. When AI researches something alone, there is no satisfaction for anyone. We don't speak of cancer research but pure theoretical research. If AI does everything for us, what is the joy of living? Doing what? Watching AI slop TikToks? Buying useless AI slop products? Living is about creation and studying and using laws of the universe for our whims. That's what AIs are stealing from us. Nobody will really benefit from solving math problems 80 years old. Only those mathematicians will lose any reasons to exist. Same will happen in any field, you start doing corpo-research for publicity. You don't win anything (but short-termed publicity) and you hurt people. Is this the goal? To cancel brilliance and redirect it to mediocrity? People in the academy enjoy what they're doing. They are working in low-paid boring places so that they can get the satisfaction of discovery and creation. OpenAI/Anthropic did it to satisfy their egos and boost their IPOs. They hurt humans for money and for ego. Is this what we want from our future AI overlords? To be ready to choke anything and anyone for money and power? @OpenAI @AnthropicAI
BREAKING: Terence Tao and 24 other Fields Medalists just signed a letter telling AI companies they're destroying mathematics >headlines: AI solves famous math problems >25 greatest mathematicians respond today >"we are witnessing a general threat to intellectual work" >ai labs are treating math problems like a benchmark you can brute force >“solutions are announced in a rush, leaving no time for a proper writeup and citing relevant previous work of others" >they're talking about openai >"this raises severe attribution and plagiarism questions" >they're definitely talking about openai >openai offered to put math professor name on navier-stokes proof >condition: abandon his coauthor bc he works at anthropic >"the most precious resources of our profession are students and ideas" >for the labs the most precious resource is GPUs A Severe Misalignment of AI in Mathematics

Btw, I'm reading "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant" and I can't but ask - are all men pedophile, or just the majority? I mean first he raped a 15yo girl, now his own daughter kisses Thomas and is in love with him, I am afraid to ask what happens in the third book. That's not ok.

So apparently, you can turn off training on your data for Claude, however, with "a little caveat". If your chat gets flagged for whatever reason, it can (and will) be used "to improve safety". Thank you, Anthropic for not only watermarking everything, but also training on it. 😡
