Our team @UHRadiology will be inviting residency programs nationwide to participate in a survey examining how residents use AI during training. Our goal is to inform how AI is integrated into radiology education. Keep an eye out for our invitation & please consider participating!

PI-RADS 3 lesions remain a diagnostic gray zone. Explore factors contributing to equivocal assessment and how image quality, reader experience, quantitative imaging and PSA density help refine risk and guide decisions. bit.ly/3UwbfFp @LKayat, @rnicola04, @uhradiology
Good time of year for this type of reading! Good luck #futureradres
This post, from an AI researcher, and the reply by @JianWDong, a radiologist who knows AI, are required reading for all med students out there considering radiology. You should come away with an understanding why radiologists are not going to be drastically displaced by AI.

We’ve just made public 125,091 DICOM radiology images from across my cancer journey (link below). The data is both longitudinal and multi-modal, dated and linked to my treatment timeline, so you can compare imaging across initial diagnosis, standard of care, first remission, “founder mode cancer care”, and second remission. It’s viewable in OHIF, the standard open-source viewer used in radiology research.
Given the long history of applying deep learning to radiology, we’re hoping to see a variety of methods and models applied to my data. If you find something interesting, please reach out to [email protected], or if you know a researcher who should see this, tag them below.
Thanks to Terra LaFerriere for organizing these images, and Kamil Slowikowski for building osteosarc.com into the resource it is.

Thank you to the 120+ responders from 30+ countries so far in our Global Prostate MRI practices survey, together with @SAR_ProstateDFP .
The survey is still open, and we’d love to get more responders and more perspectives, especially from countries that are not yet represented on the map below.
If you’re a radiologist involved with prostate MRI, please consider participating and sharing with your network.

Radiologists involved with prostate MRI worldwide: our survey on Global Prostate MRI Practices is live.
<10 min, anonymous, IRB exempt.
In collaboration with colleagues from @SAR_ProstateDFP , results will feed a global practice-patterns publication, informing payer/policy advocacy and future guidelines updates.
Please consider responding and reposting/sharing with colleagues and radiology societies worldwide.
Residents and fellows welcome to participate, too.

Check out this fire song I made to reinforce some hip anatomy to M2 students @CWRUSOM. Included a little plug for my foster cats too. #anatomy #radiology #orthopedics

From a resident’s perspective, AI can prolong the read and complicate learning. When it flags something I don’t see, it’s hard not to wonder: who’s wrong, the R1 or the app trained on millions of studies? Trainees need room to build confidence before learning to second-guess AI.
I like Jensen Huang’s optimism about the future impact of AI on jobs but he keeps peddling this notion, this week on the Ezra Klein show, that “Every single radiology application has AI in it.” Radiologists are actually overworked today because AI has NOT made substantial productivity gains broadly.
