The Union Cabinet, under the leadership of PM @narendramodi, has approved:
✅ The Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme with an outlay of Rs 1,857 crore, to boost domestic sports equipment production, increase exports, generate employment and reduce import dependence.
✅ A 3% hike in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief, benefiting over 1.17 crore Central government employees & pensioners.
✅ The Container Manufacturing Promotion Scheme with an outlay of Rs 10,000 crore, to expand domestic container manufacturing capacity nearly tenfold, boosting local production and reducing dependence on imports.
✅ The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Gram Swaraj Yojana with an outlay of Rs 7,395.55 crore to strengthen grassroots governance and enable more effective rural development planning.

India's Inland Waterways Just Crossed 200 MMT
Cargo movement on inland waterways has surged from 29 million tonnes in FY 2014-15 to 218 million tonnes in FY 2025-26, surpassing the 200 MMT target set under Maritime India Vision 2030.
This growth reflects the increasing use of inland waterways for freight transportation, strengthening multimodal logistics, improving cargo connectivity and expanding India’s transport infrastructure.
