Indiana pig farmers know their animals. They know their farm. And they know what it takes to provide quality care for their animals every single day.
So why should California billionaires and Silicon Valley tech executives have a say in how they run their farm?
Indiana pig farmers have spent generations building their operations, improving animal care and providing safe, nutritious pork for families across America.
Decisions about how pigs are raised should be based on sound science and the expertise of farmers and veterinarians who understand the industry — not outside interests thousands of miles away.

Indiana Pork is traveling to the National Association of State Boards of Education conference in Baltimore this week to present about our excellent partnerships with our Work-Based Learning program. We are proud to traveling with Diana Arellano, Work-Based Learning coordinator at Eastern Hancock schools and Kaylie Low, Eastern Hancock graduate and University of Indianapolis student who completed her WBL at Lewis Pork Farms in Greenfield.
As other states are contemplating similar graduation requirements to include WBL and industry certifications, Indiana Pork is proud to share the unique partnerships to build a local talented pipeline for our industry.
The @NationalSwine and National Pork Board are partnering with Stratovation Group, a pro-agriculture market research firm, on a first‑of‑its‑kind project to quantify show pig industry demographics in order to help drive long-term strategic initiatives. This information will help shape future programs, resources, and support for exhibitors and breeders nationwide.
We’re asking exhibitors, breeders, families, and industry participants to take a confidential 15–20-minute survey.
All responses are anonymous, and participants will be entered for the chance to win major incentives:
· Trailer spot (~$3,500 value)
· $2,000 Buyers Credit at any NSR Sale
· Traeger Grill (~$1,000 value)
· $750 cash
· $500 cash
For this study to accurately represent the show pig industry, we need participation from as many industry participants as possible. Every response helps us build a more complete and accurate picture of the survey.

One state's law shouldn't set the rules for farmers in 49 others. California's Proposition 12 is raising costs, creating uncertainty, and fueling a patchwork of state mandates. Producers are asking Congress for a #FixProp12.

We have joined with our pork counterparts from Missouri, Illinois, @IowaPork , @Southdakotapork, and @MinnesotaPork to host a group of chefs for an educational learning experience. Midwest Pork Summit is hosting 17 great chefs in Minneapolis to teach them about pork production and the finer points of cooking pork! Indiana is represented by Chefs Turon Cummings, Brady Foster and Daniel McDonald. The goal is that the chefs will take home some great ideas on how to menu new pork items while learning how pig farmers take care of their animals. #MidwestPorkSummit
Indiana Pork is excited to be exhibiting at JA JobSpark, helping students explore the many career opportunities connected to pork production and agriculture!
10,000 8th graders from central Indiana are at the Indiana State Fairgrounds exploring different career opportunities, such as advanced manufacturing, health sciences, and technology, through interactive exhibits hosted by local employers.
Indiana Pork has pigs on site and the students have loved learning about pig farming! We’re proud to help students learn more about where their interests and skills could take them.
Many thanks to Kaylie Low, a recent Eastern Hancock graduate and now freshman biology major at the University of Indianapolis, for her help showcasing the pigs. The students enjoyed visiting with her about career possibilities in pork production! #JAJobSpark #IndianaPork #AgCareers
Indiana pig farmers are always looking for ways to feed their neighbors! Through our Certified Indiana Bred program, we were able to award $5000 worth of ground pork to Vanderburgh County 4Her Casey Schillinger for her to give to a pantry of her choosing. St Vincent de Paul was the recipient and we are happy to know that nearly 3,000lbs supply protein to nearly 12,000 people!
We're grateful to @IndianaPork for their ongoing contributions of nutritious, high-qualify protein to food banks and pantries across the state through their We Care efforts. They are true champions in the work we do to alleviate hunger. hoosieragtoday.com/2026/09/2…
Indiana pig farmers had the chance to sit down with @RepRudyYakym and @RepJimBaird to talk about the Farm Bill, Prop12, MAHA, trade, and workforce development. We appreciate them taking time to listen to our issues. #PorkinAction2026 #NPPCLAC2026
Indiana pig farmers are on Capitol Hill this week, meeting with lawmakers and sharing firsthand what policies mean for their farms and rural communities. These conversations matter because the people making decisions need to hear directly from the farmers those decisions affect. Showing up, telling our story, and building relationships helps ensure agriculture has a voice in Washington. #PorkinAction2026 #NPPCLAC2026

Indiana Pork was happy to support the Indiana Meat Packers and Processors Association meeting by donating a whole hog for hands-on fabrication demonstrations.
These demonstrations give processors the opportunity to see different cuts, techniques, and carcass utilization firsthand while sharing knowledge that helps strengthen Indiana’s meat industry.
Partnerships like this connect pig farmers with the people who process and market pork every day, helping ensure we continue producing a high-quality product for consumers while supporting Indiana agriculture from farm to plate.
And a big thanks to @IvyTech_Indy for hosting the group and running the demonstration. They are another great partnership we are thrilled to have!
