The $7.2 million expansion connects Pogue’s Run Art and Nature Park to 10th Street near Arsenal Tech High School, serving as a 5+ mile connector on the city’s near east side. The trail is well known for glow stone-infused pavement that literally glows in the dark.

SOUTH LYNHURST DRIVE IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC! A deteriorated culvert can create problems that reach beyond the water flowing through it. On South Lynhurst Drive, between Washington Street and Rockville Road, the existing culvert was no longer meeting the community’s drainage needs.

Water wasn’t draining properly, contributing to deterioration of the roadway. Indy DPW has completed a culvert replacement to improve stormwater flow through the area, along with new asphalt and sidewalks.

Sometimes, snow removal can be a life-or-death matter. On December 13th, @afscmelocal725 DPW plow drivers helped clear a path for a vehicle carrying an important piece of cargo – a human heart. The heart was destined for transplant patient Dr. Steven Kemker.

Kemker, who suffered from a serious heart condition, received his transplant in time. Last Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts and Ascension St. Vincent honored Dr. Kemker and our snowplow drivers before the game against the Tennessee Titans.
