The greatest trick of capitalism is convincing people that poverty is the fault of the poor and not a systemic issue. If you really believe that people are sitting down waiting on government assistance. You try making income without a home and see how difficult.

Some years ago, I learned there's was a place called "Abeokuta" in Westmoreland Jamaica🇯🇲.
I knew the name well as the place where Fela Anikulapo Kuti was born - only - that Abeokuta was not in 🇯🇲, but in Yoruba Land, what is today South West Nigeria🇳🇬.
Abeokuta means "Under The Rock" in Yoruba, inspired by rock formations associated with the location in 🇳🇬. Similar natural features inspired the Yoruba brought to 🇯🇲 as indentured servants in the mid 1800s to name the area as such.
From these Ancestors, who mostly populated Westmoreland & Hanover we have the Ettu tradition, which has also become an ethnonym, especially for those in Hanover.
Nago is another Ethnonym used to refer Yoruba descendants in general, but especially those in Westmoreland. This is a term we find across the Abyayala ("The Americas") refering to Yoruba people. It is derived from "Anago" - a subgroup of Yoruba.
This term informed the name of places such as Naggo Head & Naggo Town in 🇯🇲.

I’m in love with this sentence:
“The degree to which a person can grow is directly proportional to the amount of truth they can accept about themselves without running away.”
