A dog tried desperately to jump back into his owner’s car after being abandoned on the side of the road in Long Beach, California. The dog chased the car for several blocks before eventually falling behind. A food delivery driver captured the heartbreaking moment on video, which caught the attention of Destiny Gomez, a woman who helps find homes for stray animals. Gomez searched for the dog and eventually found him hours later. She fed and groomed him before quickly finding him a foster home. “When I watched that video, it broke my heart.
