Defence self-reliance is central to national security and strategic autonomy. By strengthening Telangana’s aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem and advancing capabilities in AI, cybersecurity and drones,

This is genuinely brilliant.
Revanth Reddy is operating on a completely different level here and delivered a masterclass in geopolitical realism.
True national sovereignty is an illusion if you are entirely dependent on foreign technology or imports to protect your borders.
The principle of deterrence is hardly new to India’s strategic history. We have long understood that peace is best preserved from a position of strength. We must turn that principle into a strategic advantage once again, backed by in-house defence capabilities and technologies.
CM Revanth Reddy is taking India’s defence self-reliance goal and anchoring it directly into Telangana’s economic muscle, with an unprecedented vision of turning the state into the literal engine room for India’s AI, cybersecurity, and drone warfare capabilities👏🏻👏🏻

CM Revanth Reddy’s economic strategy for Telangana is built around a larger ambition: transforming the state from a growing investment destination into a major global manufacturing and technology hub.
His targets of a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047 reflect that ambition. Telangana, with just 2.5% of India’s population, already contributes nearly 5% to the national GDP. Revanth Reddy wants to raise that share to 10%, with defence manufacturing, aerospace and advanced industries driving the next phase of growth.
An important part of his strategy is to connect Telangana’s local enterprises with global opportunities. Raksha Expo is envisioned as a meeting ground for international defence manufacturers and Indian SMEs, helping smaller businesses access technology, partnerships and global supply chains.
The underlying idea is to ensure that Telangana does not merely attract global companies, but develops its own industrial capabilities and skilled workforce to compete alongside them. That is how Revanth Reddy intends to translate his trillion-dollar economic ambitions into long-term growth.

Uttam Kumar Reddy Invites Defence Industry to Invest in Telangana at Raksha Expo 2026 Curtain-Raiser
Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday invited India’s defence and aerospace industry to invest, innovate, manufacture and expand in Telangana, highlighting Hyderabad’s established ecosystem of global aerospace companies, defence public sector undertakings, research institutions and specialised manufacturing units.
Addressing the curtain-raiser event for Raksha Expo 2026 at the historic Taj Falaknuma Palace, the Minister said Telangana was well-positioned to contribute to India’s ambition of strengthening indigenous defence capabilities, expanding domestic manufacturing and building globally competitive industrial supply chains.
The expo will be held from December 7 to 9 at Bharat Future City as part of the Invest Telangana Global Summit. The event brought together the leadership of more than 90 domestic and international companies from the defence, aerospace, space and internal security sectors, along with senior military officers, DRDO representatives, industry leaders and foreign consular representatives.
Welcoming the distinguished gathering, Capt. Uttam Kumar Reddy said Raksha Expo was not merely an exhibition but an invitation to industry leaders to explore Telangana as a destination for investment, advanced manufacturing and technological innovation.
He highlighted Hyderabad’s strong industrial base, citing the presence of Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Airbus and Safran, alongside Indian companies such as Tata Advanced Systems, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and numerous specialised component manufacturers.
The Minister pointed to the Tata-Boeing aerospace partnership at Adibatla, which manufactures Apache helicopter fuselages, and the Tata-Lockheed Martin partnership in aerospace structures as examples of Telangana’s integration into global defence supply chains.
He also highlighted Safran’s investments in advanced aero-engine component manufacturing and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, including plans related to Rafale engine servicing.
“Telangana has a strong foundation across the aerospace and defence value chain,” he said, emphasising the contribution of research institutions, established manufacturers and emerging enterprises to the sector’s growth.
Capt. Uttam Kumar Reddy also underscored the state’s export performance. Citing government figures, he said aerospace and defence exports from Telangana had reached Rs 15,900 crore in 2023–24 and subsequently recorded a substantial increase. He referred to more recent figures indicating exports of Rs 32,850 crore, reflecting the sector’s expanding manufacturing and export capabilities.
The Minister recalled his association with the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence during the previous term and said the state government was keen to deepen engagement with defence production companies and investors.
He welcomed industry leaders from across the country and abroad, expressing confidence that Raksha Expo 2026 would strengthen partnerships, attract fresh investments and further establish Telangana as a major hub for defence, aerospace and space technologies.
Chief Minister, @revanth_anumula, Deputy Chief Minister, @Bhatti_Mallu , Minister for Industries, @OffDSB were among the dignitaries too part in the curtain raiser event.
Telangana is strengthening its position as a hub for aerospace and defence manufacturing, backed by global industry partnerships, advanced manufacturing capabilities and a growing export base. (2/2)
