Seagate Nurseries

We will no longer be opening our gates to the public! We will only offer plants for sale by mail order and plant fairs! Keep an eye in the spring for a selection of potted irises alongside all our other plants too! Website stock update coming very soon too!

Yeah I know another salvia! This one is Salvia leucantha ‘Purple Velvet’, we find it just about hardy here but it’s best treated as tender! #salvialeucantha #purplevelvet #salvia #peatfree #seagatenurseries

Salvia clinopodioides a new salvia gifted to us this year. Looking forward to spring to see if I can get a few going! #salviaclinopodiodies #salvia #newplant #blueflowers #peatfree

Let’s be honest we don’t do it for the money! We haven’t had a fire for more than a year so had to make the most of the heat the day after the work was done! #bonfire #notjustajob #homeeducationuk #nurserylife #familybusiness

We love salvias and I think it’s easy to see why! They just keep flowering and continue to work hard even when the going gets tough! #salvia #peatfree #sunlover #cottagegarden #gardenplants

Salvia involucrata ‘Hadspen’ continues to push new flowers through as the season changes. It’s one we wouldn’t like to be without on the nursery! #salvia #salviainvolucratahadspen #pinkflowers #octobergarden #pink

A new plant to our list to play with, Rostrinucula dependens! Looking forward to seeing this available in the future! #rostrinuculadependens #weepingbuddleja #garden #plantnursery #horticulture

I wish all seeds germinated so quickly! I am generally impatient with seeds so I sow a lot of different plants at the same time so the quick ones keep my attention while the slow ones catch up! #peatfree #seedsowing #propagation #plantnursery #plantgrowing

Salvia haenkei is easy to spot with its vibrant red flowers at the moment. A welcome addition to the autumn display! #salviahaenkei #autumnflowers #salvias #redflowers #peatfree

Symphyotrichum novae-angliae ‘Bishop Colenso’ is alive with pollinators making the most of the warm sunny weather! #aster #cottagegardenflowers #autumn #hardyplants #cottagegarden

Having had a hard year often neglected, it’s nice to see Dahlia coccinea in flower enjoying the sun. #dahliacoccinea #redflowers #dahlia #octoberflowers #peatfree

Thank you to everyone who has ordered bareroot irises this season. It’s looking already like next years list will be very different again which we look forward to! Potted irises will trickle online alongside other plants as and when we have them ready. #mailorderplants #irises

Salvia darcyii ‘Peach Form’ still looking great having enjoyed the sunshine! It’s been a great year for salvias! #salvia #peach #cottagegarden #garden #flowers

Helianthus ‘Carine’ is looking fabulous amougst the asters at the moment. We have rain in the forecast this week, fingers crossed it’s worth the wait! #helianthus #yellowflowers #hardyplants #peatfree #autumngarden

Any orders placed now for bareroot irises are sent promptly as we keep mindful of the season changing! We like irises to be planted well ahead of the colder weather for best establishment. irises.co.uk #beardedirises #hardyplants #mailorder #autumnplanting #plants

Salvia ‘Saint Jean De Beauregard’ flowers stood in front of young Salvia Sagittata plants. We do love a salvia here! We sell more salvias than irises!😲 #salvia #peatfreeplants #plantobsession #cottagegarden #perennialplants
