EYYYYY I finally made it, Cleveland! This was a good hair day for me.
Great meeting Austin Davis, Senior Policy Advisor for Mayor Bibb as he visited @Cleveland_PL. A Harvard Law grad with a strong background in public service, Austin is advancing Cleveland through impactful policy & legislation. Great to see dedication to improving city services.

Today’s Census print on single-family housing starts was a head-scratcher. Homebuilders we survey (consistent sample size with minimal noise) saw starts per community drop -13% YOY nationally in July, with all regions falling except for the Midwest.
In order for the Census data to be correct on July single-family starts +7% YOY (NSA), builders would need to grow community counts ~+20% YOY, which is very hard to believe and doesn’t match what we're hearing, even from the big builders.

"In the nearby Diocese of Orange, priests are now celebrating Mass in people’s homes in order to protect them from ICE.
We are now a country which is driving religious practice underground. Ask yourself where you have seen this sort of thing before."

NEW: When @ICEgov took José into its custody at Otay Mesa Detention Center in San Diego in January, he told medical staff at the facility that he had colon cancer.
Since then, his symptoms have worsened and he has begged them for treatment — to no avail.

A Tesla worker in my district was electrocuted to death because the company ignored safety rules. OSHA fined Tesla $50,000.
Elon Musk makes that back in nine minutes from federal contracts alone.
Workers’ lives are worth more than nine minutes of Elon Musk’s day.
Could not be more excited. If I were a cartoon character naming my two fists, they would be named "RERUM" and "NOVARUM."
Pope Leo XIV explains his choice of name:
"... I chose to take the name Leo XIV. There are different reasons for this, but mainly because Pope Leo XIII in his historic Encyclical Rerum Novarum addressed the social question in the context of the first great industrial revolution. In our own day, the Church offers to everyone the treasury of her social teaching in response to another industrial revolution and to developments in the field of artificial intelligence that pose new challenges for the defence of human dignity, justice and labour."
got me hooked on the work from an early age
Happy #MayDay, Cleveland!
My dad was a union crane operator and so was his dad. I come from a working family who built this city with unions that had their back.
That’s what today —and my campaign— is about: dignity at work and a future that actually works for working people.

Cavs are winning the East! Yeah I said it.
“Cleveland proved that it is the best team in the Eastern Conference... Take that, Boston!”
@Chris_Broussard is picking the Cavs to go to the Finals 🤯
good guy
For serving meals to the homeless, Austin Davis got handcuffed, jailed, and kicked out of public parks by the same city that just months earlier gave him an award *FOR* his charity work with the homeless.
