Absolute spot on take about the destructive nature of current day Hollywood, Pop Culture, and how not to handle a legacy IP. This is what happens when the wrong people are put in charge.
The Last Jedi did so much more than kill Star Wars
It showed us the hypocrisy of the online movie critic space where they outright lied about the film to keep their access.
It had them and the traditional media and the studios GO AFTER fans who didn't like the film, calling them slurs, it created a war between the casual fan and the established media and film media
Because of that rift it caused the ordinary fan to search out new sources of film criticism launching the careers of up till then unknown film critics and youtubers who were unafraid to take the heat and speak their minds on this and other films to come
It started a war that still rages to this day
It was a self inflicted wound that permanently infected the relationship of the fan and the filmmaker that may never heal
The Last Jedi is not just the worst Star Wars film, it's the most destructive film ever made

Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1993) the beginning of the Junior trilogy. Or the G-Force trilogy. A movie I will praise a lot because I think it's one of the best. Funny it came out the same year as Jurassic Park I consider JP and Godzilla to be different sides of the same coin.

Nothing in nearly ten centuries has the aura of Star Wars
You literally have to go back to Dante and then Wagner to get the magesty and scope of George Lucas's imagination and then mastery of visual storytelling
And that's because they draw from the same primeval wellspring containing all the lessons and warnings that reside in our sacred writings and divine intuition
This is why Star Wars survives
Star Wars didn't barely survive the Prequels. It thrived because of the Prequels
Because of them it's as alive now as it was in 1983 because he broadened it into mythology that transcends the conscious mind and interacts directly with the soul
and that's why these edits exist for Star Wars and not for Lord of the Rings or The Matrix or Harry Potter
Star Wars is deeper than all of them
And as always
May The Force Be With You

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.
