Thanks @worldrowing for the article 🚣🏿♀️
Search for Jim Walker on the internet, and it won’t be about rowing. Despite his list of rowing successes, the World Championship medallist and three-time Olympian has moved on from his former sporting life.

.@GabbyLogan 4th is not the cruellest place in Olympic Sport. It really isn’t.
It’s 4th in the Olympic Games. It might represent an all time personal highlight. Lets see if we can get another received wisdom about 4th going...
Why stop there. Refund all non-winning lottery tickets and call it quits. Accountability is important and there will be funding consequences. But it doesn’t work like that…

Hopefully the debate on GBR performance at the rowing includes an opportunity to reflect on the arbitrary cut-offs between the value of bronze & 4th, top 6 and 6-12. Yes that’s the game, but compared to 1st vs not 1st, it is 100% an invented one.

To keep things in context, whilst the overall medal tally is disappointing, GB got 8 out of 10 boats into A-Finals and all of those 8 finished 4th or higher. We also saw GB win its 1st ever M4X Olympic medal and the best ever finish in the W1X.

As always, thoughts with the British Rowers.
At home, be mindful enough not to judge from your comfortable, pain-and-pressure free sofas.
I don’t blame them for anything done or said.
I’ve seen nothing but extraordinary determination, dedication and passion.
