Josh, I am not sure how we are comparing the two. The Ravens do not have any financial flexibility to make a move like this work. The Colts would of had to eat his salary if he was traded to the Ravens, it would not have been a 3rd and 5th for Baltimore to get him. Plus the Ravens would of had to extend him. Jurgens played a position that the Ravens DESPERATELY needed (C) and he is under contract for the next 3 1/2 years and younger. It's just not comparable in my opinion.

Nelson is due ~$10M for the balance of the yr. Ravens only have ~$1.2M in Cap space, so they would have had to restructure a deal or two or asked the Colts to eat some salary (which then have probably cost a 2nd). Seattle had enough Cap space to make the deal w/o Colts eating $.

Expecting a lot of people to say the Ravens should have been in on this, especially given the price. Already moved a 2 for Jurgens and Nelson is on an expiring deal, but he probably nets a comp pick if he walks in FA. Long story short: yeah, I would've done this one.
