The Muslim muezzin who opened Mass inside St Peter's church at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, intentionally chose to recite a Koran passage that condemns his Christian hosts as idolaters (Koran 26:70-77): "When he [Abraham] questioned his father and his people, 'What is that you worship [besides Allah]?' They replied, 'We worship idols, to which we are fully devoted.' Abraham asked, 'Can they hear you when you call upon them? Or can they benefit or harm you?' They replied, 'No! But we found our forefathers doing the same.' Abraham responded, 'Have you [really] considered what you have been worshipping— you and your ancestors? They are [all] enemies to me, except the Lord of all worlds [Koran 26:70-77]." Islam teaches that all Christians are idolaters (mushrikin, people who “associate” another—Jesus—with Allah). That the muezzin chose to recite this particular passage inside a Catholic church—which is full of statues and images which are anathema to Muslims—is no coincidence. Clearly, Muslims are becoming quite emboldened. It used to be that they would recite Koran verses about how “you have your religion and I have mine” during these sham “interfaith dialogues.” But now they are openly telling the same Christians who invite them into their churches that Christianity is false. Everyone seems to take it for granted that “hostility and violence” have no place among Christians. Former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams just asked Tommy Robinson—who has been vocally critical of Islam and Muslims in Britain—how “attempting to lead a life of Christian discipleship squares with public rhetoric designed to produce hostility and violence.” This ignores the fact that Jesus Christ Himself used extraordinarily hostile language against those whom He saw as corrupting society. He publicly called the scribes and Pharisees “hypocrites,” “blind fools,” “children of hell,” a “brood of vipers,” and sons of the devil. He also violently overturned the money changers’ tables, made a whip of cords, and forcibly drove them and their animals out. So the real Christian question is not whether hostility or force can ever be justified. Scripture itself settles that. The question is: Hostility toward what? Force against whom? And under what circumstances? The modern assumption that Christianity requires Christians to be eternally passive, agreeable, and non-confrontational—DOORMATS, even in the face of evil—is NOT Christianity. It is a lie designed to neuter and make Christians vulnerable.

On July 8, Muslims rose in violence against the Christians of Tal al-Qiblaya, a village in Minya, Egypt. The Muslim mob surrounded a Coptic church during service, chanted Islamic supremacist and anti-Christian slogans, hured stones at Christians, turned off the church's electricity, and burned the priest's parked car. In a word, they terrorized the Christians. The authorities, as usual, did nothing. Such Muslim mob uprisings against Egypt's Christians have happened countless times. For an idea of how savage these tend to be, watch the brief video at the end of this post. It's of another Muslim uprising against the Christians of yet another village in Minya. A Coptic woman, barricaded in her home, managed to videotape the rioting Muslims from her barred window as they completely thrashed, set fire to, and hammered parts of her family’s property. You can hear the woman say (in Arabic), “Do you see—oh, world! do you see, what they’re doing, and how they behave?” Soon after that, you can hear her say “Save us! Please save us…. O, save us!” She also cries out, “O Lord, Lord, Lord—please have mercy [kyri eleison].” At one point, addressing the Muslim vandals outside her barred window, she says, “Please, please have mercy! We’re going to die, we’re going to die!” No mercy was offered, just more rage and, as can be heard, a constant chorus of Allahu Akbar! “Look how they destroyed our whole house—the fence, doors, windows!” she says at one point. When she sees someone tearing and running away with a piece of her property, she cries “Thieves … thieves! Where’s the government? What government?!” As just happened last week in Tal al-Qiblaya, the mobs were given amble time to vent their rage before the authorities and firefighters responded. At the end of the recording, it seems that the mobs finally break into her home and assault her and/or other family members—at which point she starts screaming and crying hysterically. The video abruptly ends soon thereafter. Such are the routine experiences of Christians in Muslim-ruled Egypt. Such is how Islam behaves at home, where it is in power and in no need of dissembling.
