You can lock up a person, but you can never lock up an idea. The legacy of freedom lives on through us.
London, a woman holds a sign saying 'I support genocide. I oppose Palestine Action.' Police leave her alone.
But if you hold a sign that says 'I oppose genocide and I support Palestine Action, you get arrested.
You can't make this up. In UK, You can openly cheer for mass murder, but you can't protest against it.

This is what happens when you continually excuse violent police behaviour with 'they do a difficult job.'
This is armed assault. It should be treated as such, with criminal prosecution and an appropriate sentence, the same sentence anyone else would get.

Would love to see a Police estimate of the amount they have spent arresting people like this and how much crime they have prevented.
I'll have a guess, tens of millions of Pounds.
To prevent no crime at all.
ARRESTED WITH SARAH HELM'S WORDS
A woman has just been arrested outside the US Embassy in London for holding a sign with words mirroring the ones that the National Security Advisor's wife tweeted, and for which @metpoliceuk declared "did not meet the criminal threshold".

The UK. A place where, if you give an old person holding a placard a drink of water, you're a terrorist.

Dear @policeconduct @MayorofLondon and @MOPACLdn why is this @metpoliceuk officer punching this child with his handcuffs. The WPC knows its wrong - watch as she turns her head to see who's watching.
This wildly aggressive officer should be investigated asap.

21 years ago, British journalist Tom Hurndall died after spending 9 months in a coma.
Tom was carrying a Palestinian child out of range of Israeli army gunfire when he was shot in the head.
We will never forget him, nor his vision of a free and independent Palestine.

A lawyer was murdered. Now an inquiry must expose MI5's role.
Pat Finucane was murdered in Belfast decades ago. Could an inquiry finally force British intelligence to come clean?

Another appalling attack on the basic democratic right to protest.
And what a waste of police resources to be arresting peaceful protesters holding signs against a genocide.
I voted against the ban on Palestine Action in Parliament and will keep pushing for it to be overturned.

If you grew up in Britain in the 70s or 80s, you'll remember the sadistic teacher who took pleasure in disciplining children with a ruler, a cane or whatever else came to hand. The sort who confused cruelty with authority and punishment with discipline.
Well, here we have that very same sadist, only this time wearing a police uniform and apparently using handcuffs as a weapon against a child.
I don't give a damn what that child is alleged to have done. And I couldn't care less that the far right have jumped on this footage. I'm not going to excuse apparent police brutality simply because condemning it puts me on the same side of an argument as someone whose politics I disagree with.
The footage shows what it appears to show; the officer responsible should be sacked, along with any colleague who witnessed unlawful violence and deliberately stood by.
A police uniform is not a licence to brutalise children. We entrust officers with extraordinary powers because they're supposed to exercise restraint, not indulge in punishment.
Anyone who cannot understand that has no business wearing the uniform.
Oh, and for the old toe rags like me who grew up getting the occasional clip round the ear from the local bobby... let's not pretend that's remotely comparable to being struck in the throat with steel handcuffs. There's a world of difference between a clip round the ear and a police officer using a weapon against a child.
Do you think a police officer should be able to do this to a child?
