I join fellow UN experts in urging #Pakistan to halt the forced return of Afghans who may face persecution, torture or other serious human rights violations. Afghans at risk must have a safe and accessible way to come forward, be individually assessed, and receive protection from forced return while their cases are being assessed. 🔵I am particularly concerned about women and girls, unaccompanied children, human rights defenders, journalists, former judges, prosecutors and lawyers, former security personnel and others who may face serious risks upon return. ➡️We also raise concerns about actions toward forced return of Afghan students in medical and dental institutions in Pakistan, particularly women students whose access to higher education and medical training is already severely restricted in #Afghanistan.
