Big failure from @bradlander & @BilldeBlasio Gowanus rezone shouldve included community compacting, pneumatic tubes or street containers. Instead we get another canal of garbage on Bond. @ShahanaFromBK @LincolnRestler @NYCSanitation should get Gowanus in CB2 bins program asap

Visited our Arizona factory this week. Pretty cool to see production prototypes for our Lucid Gravity robotaxi program with Uber and Nuro. Pictured here after coming off the line, this one is awaiting its halo and a few other sensors. Proud of the teams behind this progress.

Read NYTWA, Uber, and Marblegate's joint letter calling on @GovKathyHochul & @NYCMayor to take urgent action to enact NYTWA's health & wellness plan for NYC yellow cab, Uber, and Lyft drivers:

It's crazy to me that JFK goes to extreme lengths to tell people not to take illegal cabs, but doesn't just kick the people soliciting illegal cabs out of the airport. It has to be mostly the same people running it day to day, and they aren't at all discrete about it.

Government has to adjust to the fact that it's just a matter of time before AI agents start making FOIL requests, filing legal claims, applying for permits and benefits, submitting job applications, reporting fraud allegations, asking questions to 311, or making 911 calls.
Our government processes were built around an assumption we have barely thought about: that every request, application, complaint, and claim requires a human being to spend time creating it. AI will erase that constraint.
NYC simply does not have systems capable of dealing with what could be the resulting exponential increase in the volume of incoming. The time to fix that is now.
I wrote about this and other challenges AI is posing for NYC, and what we need to do about it. Link in reply.

Spain joins the growing list of markets where we're leading the way toward an autonomous future
First stop: Madrid, with @WeRide_ai and AVOMO. Testing and mapping begin now 🚀 🇪🇸
Autonomous mobility is one step closer in Spain. 🇪🇸
Together with @WeRide_ai and AVOMO, we’ve received Spain’s first national permit for Level 4 autonomous passenger vehicles, allowing us to begin mapping, route validation and operational readiness testing in the region of Madrid.
This is an exciting and important step as we get ready to bring autonomous rides to Spain 🚀

Big news for those who follow the evolving regulatory landscape for AVs (isn’t that everyone?): The Nevada Transportation Authority has approved Uber’s application to operate as an Autonomous Vehicle Network Company (AVNC), marking an important milestone for autonomous mobility in Nevada – and for our vision of a hybrid network where AVs and drivers operate side by side on the Uber platform.
As we prepare to launch fully autonomous rides with @Zoox and @MotionalDrive in Las Vegas, we’ll continue working closely with the State of Nevada and local officials every step of the way. Should be an exciting second half of 2026!
And all we did was put some of the garbage in cans. Imagine if more of the garbage went in cans. nitter.cf/MikeVorkunov/status/20…
New York City might actually be winning, for once, in its war on rats. Bloomberg reports that rat sightings are down 22% over the first seven months of this year. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
It’s also not so different than PILOTS. Instead of paying taxes, some buildings get to pay for a local transit improvement or a a new park next door (see BBP). It just makes the rest of us pay more for everything else. nitter.cf/nicolegelinas/status/2…
Again, this isn't so much a socialist breakthrough as it is axiomatic regular economics. An operator that doesn't have to shoulder the burden of real-estate costs or property taxes (direct or indirect) can pass those savings to consumers. Do this across the economy instead of at five gimmicky stores and you destroy the city's property-tax base.
If you are heading to MetLife to see Vini Jr. & Haaland take @NJTRANSIT from Penn - the best way to get to & from Manhattan. If you are taking an Uber home I highly recommend our $29 shuttle bus option! Because of rain and holiday travel, expect delays.
This one community is all about LICH. Sometimes it’s really just a local politics story.
