Kyrie possibly retiring a Maverick is so surreal to me. As iconic as Dirk was the Mavs have never had a basketball icon as great as Kyrie make Dallas their home. And him retiring and resting his hat on the franchise is big when you consider the history of KAI.

Not that there won't be a big market, there will be, but if they've got a chance to compete for a play-in, play-off spot. I just think it's going to be really tough to move Kyrie. Several reasons this is wrong but one of them is that the Mavs needed to take 5 swings with the money AD’s contract saved so they could get Risacher. Sasser, Larry, Santi and then keep all of PJ, Gafford, Naji, Martin and other while not being a 2nd Apron team.
The Mavs are a KPJ away from being serious contenders out west this year. But i know its a pipe dream
