Jake Lockett, MY LIFE AS AN ASTHMANAUT Out Now!

Today, my dream came TRUE!🌠I'm a traditionally published children's author! My book is out now!🧑‍🚀 #bookbirthday #publicationday #picturebook #picturebooks #kidlit #childrensbooks #asthma #nonfiction #books #disability #disabilitybooks #pb #space #WritingCommunity #authorlife

2025's "Good Boy" was a unique horror film shown from a dog's perspective. Ghost-sensitive Indy moves to the country with his sick owner, Todd. The entity that had destroyed Todd's gramps starts to haunt & control the man. As Todd's soul gets taken, he tells Indy to move on!

"In the Eye of the Storm" S4 had 14 eps, covering May Nightmare, Hurri Idalia, Michigan Monster, Hurri Harvey, Dakota EF5, Valencia Flood, St. Louis Tornado, Hurri Melissa, July 4th Flood, Ottawa Tornadoes, Father's Day Fury, 40-State Storm, 3 Rivers 4 Tornadoes, & EF-4 vs. Base.

Nat Geo's 8-part "Megastorm" series was impactful & just as good as "In the Eye of the Storm." It covered Hurri Harvey, Tennessee Tornado Outbreak, 2019 Australian Wildfires, Hurri Helene, Portuguese Wildfires, Alabama Tornado Outbreak, Valencia Floods, & Southern Twisters.

I'm mixed on the 7-part reboot "Restaurant Impossible: Last Call." Without Robert Irvine, RI is missing most of its soul, but since the always entertaining setup of saving restaurants is basically the same & Chef Aarón & Restaurateur Jen are likable hosts, I still enjoyed it.

"Expedition X" S12 came & went fast (only 5 eps?). Nothing truly memorable happened, but Jack Osbourne was a delight. Subjects covered: Robin Hood's Ghosts, Skinwalkers (a lot of instigation here), Ghosts of Guam, & a 250th special about Revolutionary War ghosts in Pennsylvania.

As someone who loves 30s & 40s horror, 2022's "Werewolf by Night" really pulled me in with its efforts to emulate the look & feel of those films! Monster hunters compete for the Bloodstone, but Jack (who is secretly a werewolf) is just there to rescue his swamp-monster pal, Ted!

1999's "Phantom Town" felt like a lost "Goosebumps" or "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" ep that was given feature length. Very atmospheric! Parents go missing in a ghost town controlled by an ancient creature. Their kids come to the rescue, but get trapped themselves. Permanently!

"Halloween Wars" S16 (2026) only brought back all-star teams, but this made the season predictable as it became just the battle of the "Lizzes," with less-seasoned contestants not having a chance to shine. S7 champs Team Ghoul'd are now the 1st team to win the show twice!

"Scariest House in America" S3 (2026) is the best season so far, as the houses on display were truly terrifying. Highlights include Joan, the bell-ringing doll, & the house that causes death whenever the owners try to move! A PA house is chosen for a reno in the finale yet again!

I was only a few months old when "The Nightmare Before Christmas" was originally released, so I never got to see it on the big screen... until my local theater did a special screening of the film the other day! The spooky opening musical number felt at home in a dark theater!

Goosebumps "Scariest Book Ever," which starts the House of Shivers line, is 1 of Stine's weakest stories. It's just 2 kids following multiple fake Uncle Wendells through a house or forest, chasing or avoiding book thieves. The "scariest book" MacGuffin isn't developed.

I don't watch much "Paranormal Caught on Camera," but for spooky season, I binged S10 (from "Haunted Pub of Doncaster" to "A Phantom Hand in Brazil"). Most of these vids are probably fake, but all are funny, especially the ghost hunter doing a fall after a ghost tells him to run.

All renovation shows should be like "A Very Haunted Renovation!" 6 interior designers had to live inside a haunted mansion while renovating it & competing against each other. I enjoyed the special guest judges! Diana was insufferable! Congrats, SK!

Marvel’s "Spidey & the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!" was a colorful adventure where the Avengers save Halloween from Hallows' Eve while Hulk learns to face his fear of bats. 1 question: If Captain America is not a kid like most of the other heroes, why is he kid-sized?

During this spooky season, I watched something that didn't contain anything scary whatsoever (well, besides haunting vocals), which was "Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration." Much talent was on display (the Moana duet was awesome), but where was Mandy Moore?

"Lego Star Wars: The Mandalorian" was a special that poked fun at all the iconic moments from the show, but failed to hide the fact that it just exists to get families quickly caught up on previous seasons before watching the new film. The Dorian Shard sub-plot felt forced.

When Hope Calls S3 had Nora confront bribing boss, Sam lose himself after using his fortune to become a hotel owner, Mountie Fletcher leave town for another post, Hannah pursue fashion, a reverend move in, & Tess forcibly seize another rancher's land, making an enemy of the town!

"Haunted Hospitals" S5 (from "Parasitic Ghosts" to "Souls Seeking Revenge") is presumably the last season of the show, & not as memorable as other years. But the ghosts and scares sure were fun!

SlappyWorld: "They Call Me the Night Howler" saw Mason accept a quitting hero's costume, becoming NH! He fails to capture Dr. Maniac & also mistakes sister Stella for villain Blue Strawberry. He loses his powers when Stella discovers his identity, but then takes Maniac's mantle?

How disappointing to CANCEL my author reading at the Easton Book Festival today. I was planning on renting a car for the long trip, but was informed late yesterday that EVERY Enterprise within a 50-mile radius had no cars available due to various factors. #kidlit #pb
