I think the best way to resolve the droughts that are continually hitting the UK is to build desalination plants around the coast.

Le préfet a appris avec tristesse la disparition du vétéran britannique Richard Aldred, mort dans la nuit du 7 au 8 mars à 101 ans.
Jeune soldat de 19 ans, il débarque en Normandie le 7 juin 1944 sur Gold Beach, entre Asnelles et Ver-sur-Mer, au lendemain du Jour J. Chauffeur de char Cromwell au sein de la 7ᵉ division blindée britannique, il participe aux combats de la bataille de Normandie.
Engagé dans la lutte pour la libération de Caen, il prend notamment part aux opérations Perch et Goodwood. Son char est détruit par un tir allemand près de Bourneville-Sainte-Croix : il racontera s’être abrité, avec ses camarades survivants, sous un crucifix en bord de route où tous avaient récité une prière.
Fidèle à la Normandie qu’il avait contribué à libérer, Richard Aldred revenait régulièrement à Ver-sur-Mer pour les commémorations, notamment au British Normandy Memorial.
Les témoins disparaissent peu à peu, mais leur courage et leur esprit de sacrifice demeurent à jamais gravés dans notre histoire et nos mémoires ! 🇫🇷🇬🇧 – at Caen, France

27 January 1933 | A German Jewish boy, Lutz Ludwig Grünstein, was born in Berlin.
He was deported to #Auschwitz from the #Theresienstad ghetto on 9 October 1944. He was murdered in a gas chamber after selection.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.
