This week at JNPA was marked by initiatives promoting transparency, public participation and environmental responsibility. From the Integrity Pledge, street play, two-day seminar on Public Procurement and Grievance Redressal Meeting with Port Users under Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 to the scrap disposal drive and cleanliness drive at Karal Bypass under Swachhata Hi Seva Special Campaign 6.0, JNPA continued its efforts towards responsible governance and a cleaner environment. The week also witnessed the observance of Vande Mataram. JNPA also welcomed delegations from Tax Bar Association, Pune; Universal AI University, Karjat; Christ University, Pune; ETTI Academy and NIFT, providing students and visitors an opportunity to gain insights into port operations and the maritime sector.

JNPA, in association with the Resources Development & Management Institute, Jaipur, organised a four-day in-house workshop on “Reservation Policy of the Government of India in Posts & Services for SC/ST/OBC/EWS” for its officers and employees from 27th to 30th October 2026. The programme was conducted by Dr. G. S. Somavat, Former Director, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), Government of India, and Chairman, Resources Development & Management Institute, Jaipur.

Every gateway has a future to protect. At NSICT and NSIGT (DP World), the next chapter of the JNPA story is a greener one. ✅ Already in place 11 MW of green power: Since 1 July 2024, both terminals source renewable electricity through open access, with remotely generated power fed into the state grid. It is expected to replace around 75% of conventional electricity needs at NSICT and 80% at NSIGT, cutting local CO₂ emissions by about 50%. Electric cargo handling: Three electric rail-mounted gantry cranes at NSICT and 16 electric RTGs at NSIGT help reduce reliance on diesel-powered equipment. Paper-light operations: Automated gates, digital cargo systems and digital documentation reduce paper use and keep trucks moving. 🔜 Coming next More electrification: DP World has stated an ambition to move towards a fully electric RTG fleet across its Indian terminals. Shore power at JNPA: JNPA is implementing shore power supply across its terminals, with a published target of January 2028, so compatible ships can use electricity from shore at berth instead of running their engines. Two terminals. One gateway. Here’s what NSICT and NSIGT bring to JNPA: ⚓ NSICT With a full capacity of 1.2 million TEUs, the terminal runs eight Super Post-Panamax quay cranes, two NOELL single-lift and six ZPMC twin-lift, with an outreach of 50 to 55 metres. Its 600-metre berth and 16.2 metres alongside let it handle large vessels, while 774 reefer points keep temperature-sensitive cargo moving. ⚓ NSIGT With a full capacity of 0.8 million TEUs, the terminal is designed for efficient, reliable handling at scale. Its 330-metre quay is paired on the yard side with 16 electric RTGs for cleaner, more efficient container movement.
