1) Sometimes professors make mistakes and there are occasionally good reasons to question grades. Students should be able to get their grades changed for legitimate reasons.
2) Self advocacy - especially when there is a differential power dynamic - is a good skill to have.

my daughter had open heart surgery.
She was 5.
As a paediatrician, I felt helpless
