Ag 16 I was told if there was 100 people in a room, 99 would be better. A few years on, I own a business that gets to work with some of the biggest names in sport, supported by Virgin SU and every day I live the dream. If there’s a will, there’s a way! #DyslexiaAwarenessWeek

Mistakes in training are a sign the session is working. If nobody’s failing, it’s too easy.

Parents aren’t the problem. Communication is. Most sideline issues start with expectations nobody set.

To introduce pressure in practice: • Add consequences • Use scoring systems • Create time constraints

“Good technique” in a queue isn’t good technique. If it falls apart under pressure in a game, it was never learned.

The best coaches design the problem and let the game do the teaching. Small-sided games make that easy. Set it up, step back, observe.

From people don’t say: Spurs & Liverpool FC are charging schools £20,000+ a year for “partnerships” where they send in often below par and novice coaches. Where most schools don’t catch on is that, these are run from the commercial arm of the club and not the coaching side.

Nonsense, my 3 boys have had equal game time in all their teams up to now. It’s not hard to work out how long each player is on the pitch for.

Why does 1 kid deserve more playing time over another? The players and the parents time/money is worth the same as any others

Failing to do that pushes kids out of the sport. I honestly believe if you give equal time early more teams would stay together and you would NOT have the exodus around the 11v11 transition that seems to happen everywhere.
