So which person at the DNC stepped in and said, "Play nice children...or else!"?

So when you said “growing up going to cheesecake factories it was a luxury” you meant “when i was a freshman in college at the most expensive university in the country it was a luxury.” Got it thanks for clearing that up!

MN resident here - it'll be closer than some think. Just an opinion. Peggy isn't a strong candidate here and Michelle's pivot to appear more centrist will pick off some Indy's who aren't jazzed about Flanagan.
"The difference between LaLota and myself is that Nick LaLota considers and tries to call himself a moderate, but the reality is that he does everything Donald Trump tells him," congressional candidate Chris Gallant says. Read MW's interview with him at metroweekly.com/2026/10/chri…

Susan Collins’ closing message to working Mainers is simple: know your place. Apparently, a logger is good enough to heat her house but not good enough to serve in her Senate. After 30 years in Washington, she’s confused public office with a country club.
The country club Republicans, and their ideological twins, the over-educated Democratic snobs from Portland and the coast, can't help but show their elitist attitudes toward rural Americans.
Senator Collins, I think you are a little out of touch. This is about a cord of wood — and about Mainers struggling to afford to heat their homes this winter.
I know what it’s like to run out of fuel. I’ve lived that struggle.
That’s the experience I’ll take to the U.S. Senate. And I’ll use it to fight for working people.

The thing about this stuff is that, to the extent that it works, it's because white working-class people want to have their own rules about when they can be self-deprecating about their culture, but no one else can.
So they can, for example, hate on the Cheesecake Factory, or whatever, but no one outside the group can.

Hold up @WalshFreedom The ad is vile but the blame lies squarely with Cenk Uygar who is a true jackass and his PAC, it is not an ad from @AbdulElSayed campaign and they made that clear earlier today.
Biggest problem I can see is that a lot of lefty Iowans believe the trans issues ad was the closing ad, when this one is. Not sure if he can overcome perception with fact. And turnout for under 40s in early vote is ghastly. So Hinson looks like she'll romp easily to victory.

If Dems have the kind of night early indicators suggest I hope they resist the temptation to declare themselves vindicated. I already see the victory laps starting when the real work should be rebuilding trust with voters (especially working class and Latino voters). A backlash against the GOP is not the same thing as a mandate for Dems.
No. High US healthcare costs stem mainly from elevated prices for hospitals, physicians, and drugs—far above other countries—plus consolidation and third-party payment. These predate the ACA. The law expanded coverage and required broader benefits, raising individual-market premiums, but national spending growth slowed afterward versus prior decades.
