A major leap for West Bengal and India’s energy goals. JSW Energy has begun work on its biggest greenfield project yet — a 1600 MW ultra supercritical thermal power plant in Salboni. With an investment of ₹16,000 crore and a 25-year power agreement with WBSEDCL, the project promises over 2000 job opportunities and a big boost to regional development.
The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, JSW Group Chairman Mr. Sajjan Jindal, JSW Foundation Chairperson Ms. Sangita Jindal, JSW Cements and JSW Paints Managing Director Mr. Parth Jindal, CEO of JSW Energy Mr. Sharad Mahendra, and cricket legend Mr. Sourav Ganguly.
Also in the works: a 2000-acre JSW Industrial Park set to transform Salboni into a hub of growth. The future is taking shape right here in Salboni.

The sooner we start talking about road safety, the more naturally those habits can become a part of growing up. In collaboration with our Safety Department, we designed a road safety awareness programme at a school for 8th and 9th graders, combining interactive learning with quiz competitions to encourage active participation. With teachers and the headmistress playing an active role, the programme helped foster a culture of safety and responsibility among young minds.

A bigger capacity, with renewables leading the way! JSW Energy has added 1.7 GW of generation capacity since April 2026, taking its total installed capacity to 15.1 GW. This includes 593 MW of solar, 108 MW of wind, 542 MW of hybrid and 150 MW of hydro capacity, along with 300 MW of thermal capacity from Maruti Clean Coal & Power Ltd. This is another step towards powering what’s next, as we work towards building 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030.
