Hear from Sasha at @JSocWarwick about why universities must adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism

A number of questions remained unanswered:
- Will the Uni commit to fully adopting the definition rather than just paying lip service to it
- Will the VC publicly commit to supporting IHRA
- Will the Uni explain which other definitions of antisemitism it is using?

Over 100 Higher Education Institutions, all major UK political parties and 35+ countries have adopted the definition, and we urge the University of Warwick to reaffirm its adoption IHRA including its use in disciplinary processes and finally fulfil its duty of care.

How can they claim they want to fulfill their moral duty to protect all members, which includes Jewish students, when this motion clearly disregards the wants and needs of Jewish students?

‘UJS and @WarwickJsoc are frustrated and angered by the @warwickuni Assembly for passing a motion to challenge the IHRA working definition of antisemitism. See full statement below.
Thank you to all who joined us for our event commemorating #HolocaustMemorialDay . Today we remember the 6 million Jews murdered in the Shoah, alongside the countless other victims of genocide then and since. May their memories be a blessing.
Keeping up the family tradition, @R_Langer @BradleyZlanger
Students at Warwick uni have been clear. NO TO BDS!
a huge mazal tov to all the amazing students, especially thoes in @JISocWarwick, who have campaigned so hard to defeat this.
warwicksu.com/asv We personally think your money is better spent on student wellbeing than replacing every HP computer and printer. If you agree, vote AGAINST BDS at the ASV
Any chance of a shoutout boss @unclemoishyswrl?
We'd like to thank the University for this delayed, but vital step. Particular thanks must go to our past Presidents @Angus_Taylor_7 and @NathanCBoroda, without whom this would not have been possible, as well as the support of @WarwickSU @UJS_UK @BoardofDeputies among many others

It is no surprise that @warwickuni refuse to adopt @TheIHRA definition of antisemitism whilst its faculties RT messages of solidarity for those suspended from the Labour Party over antisemitism...

“No university should allow this rhetoric to be propagated by its employees, let alone taught to students in an academic setting.”
