Yet another successful year for our Texas horned lizard release program! 🦎💚
For 15+ years, the Fort Worth Zoo has set the standard for horned lizard conservation, sharing our methods and learnings with other institutions to promote the widespread conservation of this iconic Texas native species!
This year, the Zoo and its partners released 686 horned lizards — over a third of which were hatched here at the Fort Worth Zoo. Since 2017, the Zoo and its partners have released a grand total of 3,719 horned lizards — talk about a BIG impact for these little lizards!
A huge thank-you to our partners, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Dallas Zoo, Caldwell Zoo and Delores Fenwick Nature Center, for joining in this important effort! Together, we’re making a difference for this native species, and we remain committed to its care and conservation for generations to come!

Friends, I could really use some help.
A large group of Amish builders from Ohio are spending the next FIVE MONTHS fixing homes damaged by Hurricane Helene for FREE in Western North Carolina and South Carolina.
There's just one problem... the Amish don't drive, so they need drivers to take them back and forth to job sites and drop off trailers (if you have a truck).
I have already volunteered to help, but we need more volunteers.

You'll get free breakfast and free dinner too + you'll get to meet some of the heroes who have been working here to rebuild.

Police called on 3 year old Black boy—for being "too good" at soccer.
Officers escorted his family away in front of all the other kids.
After league had them tresspassed from the field.
“They really called the police on a 3 year old because he had the ball too much," dad said.
The young athlete was already playing in a league with kids 2 years older than him.
Other parents on the opposing team are heard on video claiming the kid was "trying to put on a show."
His mom replied, "Those grown ups huddled up talking about my son... but he ain't doing nothing but playing soccer."
Incident occurred at an i9 Sports league soccer game in Winter Park, Florida.

They called the police on a three-year-old because he is good at soccer.
Read that again.
They called the cops on a toddler.A three-year-old. Because he can kick a ball better than the other kids on the field.
Not because he assaulted anyone. Not because he had a weapon. Not because he was a danger to anyone.
Grown adults watched a toddler play a sport and decided the appropriate response was to dial emergency services and send uniformed officers to deal with a child who has not yet started kindergarten.

Baby Brazos isn’t so baby anymore ☹️🫶🥹
Brazos can typically be seen hanging out with Travis, our 3-year-old calf. Together, keepers say they get out their “little boy energy” by sparring and chasing each other. You might also find him moving logs around his habitat, which keepers call “rearranging the furniture”! When Brazos isn’t playing with Travis or logs, he is playing in the pool or enjoying a nice watermelon snack!
Since his birth 5 years ago, Brazos has reached a whopping 4,200 pounds and stands at 7 feet 4 inches tall. Brazos’s birth at the Zoo added to our three-generation herd and marked an important milestone not only for the Zoo, but also for this species. Asian elephants are endangered, and with a dwindling wild population due to factors like habitat loss, fragmentation and human-elephant conflict, any birth for this species is an important one.

MEDIA BLACKOUT: A white father, 25, was beaten to de*th outside a Chicago bar... and police are looking for three black men and one asian woman while the media is largely SILENT. Gee - wonder why?
Alexander “Xander” Kazanowski, a Barrington High School graduate and father of one with a second child on the way, was found unresponsive with severe head injuries around 3:20 a.m. on March 24, 2026, outside the Tune Up Bar in Avondale.
He d*ed four days later from blunt force trauma. The Cook County medical examiner ruled the de*th a hom*cide.

Chicago police released images of four persons of interest. Official descriptions identify three black men - one in a black jacket and baseball hat, one in a black jacket over a white hoodie, and one in a blue jacket with a brown winter hat - and one asian woman in a black jacket and white pants. No arrests have been made.

The case drew limited national coverage. Chicago has recorded more than 300 hom*cides in 2026, with the large majority of victims young black males.
Clearance rates for fatal sho*tings of white victims have historically run higher than for black victims, yet this white victim’s k*lling remains unsolved months later.
