A new novel I could not recommend more, link in the post:
middleverse.net The Hall of Kings Beneath Sarim's Palace lies a forgotten room, filled with statues of rulers erased from history. One remains unfinished. Its face never carved, for some secrets survive long after their kingdoms fall. Aran Novel paypal.com/ncp/payment/YP8HZ…

New Legendary Links short! 🔗⚔️🌿
🗡 Legendary Links: History & Mythology in Hyrule 🏹 Koroks/Kodama The Koroks call Link back to the Lost Woods because the Deku Tree is sick. In Japan, those forest spirits are kodama: the spirit of a tree. A shrine often stands in a grove kept because a kami dwells there. The central tree is marked and left standing to protect its spirit. The moon is weird and as far as I'm concerned there's no theory too strange to consider. For it to be so close there aren't a lot of definitives. Mysterious ringing, its unique tidal locked position, and the craters that are seemingly uniform in depth make it one of our oldest mysteries. 🔥

🔍Unseen Wednesday📜 ~ A weekly short History thread featuring lesser-known historical figures who have left their mark on our timeline ~ In late August 1854 cholera tore through a few crowded streets in Soho and killed more than five hundred people in ten days. Most of London’s doctors still believed the disease rose from bad air. One physician walked those same streets with a list of the dead, marked every address on a map, and then asked the local guardians to take the handle off a single public water pump. They agreed. The outbreak was already beginning to subside, but the map remained, and with it the evidence that the disease had been traveling in the water. His name was John Snow.

At Snow's evidence-based request, the local Board of Guardians removed the Broad Street pump handle on 8 September. Snow never claimed the removal alone stopped the outbreak; the sickness and death numbers were already declining. What his plotted map and the company comparison showed was that the disease moved with contaminated water. He published the fuller account in 1855. Most of the medical establishment of that time still stubbornly preferred to blame miasma, as they did for a multitude of illnesses of the time. Snow died of a stroke in 1858 at the age of forty-five, while finishing a book on chloroform. Notably, the germ that caused cholera would not be identified for another twenty-five years after his death.

John Snow spent years showing that a disease the authorities blamed on bad air was actually traveling in the water people drank. He paid to print the evidence, marked the deaths himself, and asked only that one pump handle be taken off. The handle came off, but his theory did not. Sometimes, only careful observation and common-sense comparison are the key to unlocking a mystery. Who else should I spotlight next Unseen Wednesday? Let me just lay it all out on the table for you...💥
Parts of archaeology are clearly scientific: the tools, the measurements, the repeatable methods. Those parts hold up under scrutiny. The moment we move from the data to interpreting what it means for past people and cultures, it shifts toward something more artistic and subjective. That’s why it’s more accurate to call it archaeology plus science than pure science on its own. Hope this helps. 😬 Full episode: youtube.com/live/X9ftLqIy60k
