Jake Lopez

Our 2027 summer has come to an end. It was by far the most competitive schedule I have put together. I’m extremely proud of our guys. We competed against the top teams in the country every weekend, in front of a ton of schools and pro scouts. 20-9-1 was our final record making top 16 finishes in the Don Mattingly and PBR national. (Both events had over 170 teams) . 18 of our 30 games were decided by 3 runs or less, which means there were a lot of meaningful pitches and at bats. We didn’t throw any at bats away and we didn’t go through the motions. We played good, hard baseball. We did it with 10 or 11 position players (4 2way guys) , and 4 POs. We did pick up an arm or 2 along the way, but these guys got a ton of PT, exposure, and adversity. No doubt they got tougher. They realized the importance of playing 1 pitch at a time, having a short memory, and why being a great teammate and having great body language matters. I’m grateful to be a part of their journey. If you know me, it doesn’t stop here. If you are one of my guys, this relationship lasts far beyond HS, college, and pro ball. Time to start building a roster for the this falls Texas Scout Association and Jupiter! Then next summers Connie Mack team!! #sandlotfam
