𝐋𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐅𝐂 🤝 Leighton Town FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Leese and Jon Meakes as our new football management team. They  will take the reins at the Freed Veneers Community Stadium following tonight's Bedfordshire Senior Cup game v Barton Rovers. Andy and Jon have an exceptional track record over many years at Step 2-4 of the Non-League pyramid, successfully managing teams such as Chesham United, Enfield Town, Hayes and Yeading and more recently Walthamstow FC. Chairman of Leighton Town FC, Sean Downey, was delighted with the appointment. “It was important to fill the vacant managerial post speedily following Paul's sudden departure. Losing a manager at this stage of the season can create huge instability and uncertainty across any club and being able to appoint two highly talented and experienced managers so quickly to take charge of team affairs, is as unexpected as it is exciting. When we met to discuss the recruitment process last week, we were clear on two priorities. Firstly, that we need a Management Team that holds a deep understanding of the game at this level and a proven track record of building and developing competitive, organised and hard-working teams. Secondly, we had to move fast!  Andy and Jon have been tasked with bringing renewed energy, confidence and consistency to the team and building a strong collective spirit both on and off the pitch. Andy, who has lived locally for a few years said: “It's incredibly exciting to be given the keys to the dug-out at Leighton Town FC. It's a club Jon and I know well and we want to build on the great work Paul Reed and his team have done. We look forward to meeting the players and fan base which looks like one of the most passionate in the league from what we have seen. Although we have some challenges to overcome to be ready for Saturday's game away at Stourbridge, we are looking forward to getting started. Jon and I have huge experience at Step 3  and we know how to build winning teams. The hard work starts today!" A new era begins Town fans! Let's get behind Andy and Jon and the team. Up the Town! #YourTownYourTeam

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔, 𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐘 ❤️ It is with sincere regret that Leighton Town FC announces the resignation of our First Team Manager Paul Reed, effective from after Saturday's home game against Peterborough Sports FC. This decision has not been an easy one for Paul to make and despite our attempts to persuade him to stay and continue with the outstanding work he has led over the past two years, Paul is adamant that this decision is the right one for him, his family, and the club. During his time at Leighton Town FC Paul has brought so much joy to us all, particularly last season, where against all the odds he masterminded an unexpected and hugely impressive title win, guiding the club to Step 3 football for the first time in its long history. In the process the team amassed over 100 points and scored over 100 goals, playing some entertaining football and building a strong bond with the town and our fantastic support base. Chairman of Leighton Town FC, Sean Downey, said: "Saturday is going to be a very emotional day for me and everyone connected with Leighton Town FC. Paul's achievements speak for themselves and we will be forever grateful for the immense contribution he has made to the success of the club in recent years. I urge everyone who loves our club to be at the Freed Veneers Community Football Stadium on Saturday to cheer on Reedy, his staff and the players, and to give him the send off his work and achievements truly deserve. We will miss him hugely!  Paul and his lovely family will always be welcome at Leighton Town FC and we wish him and them every success and happiness in the future." The club has already begun to make plans to address football matters in the short, medium and longer term and a statement will be made early next week in preparation for our Bedfordshire Senior Cup game at home to our old friends and rivals from Barton Rovers FC.  #YourTownYourTeam
