When I ran for school board in 2022 I got a lot of resistance from the local Republican party and donors. In fact, some actively worked to sink me. They told me I was too loud, too aggressive and too 'weird' about all the trans and DEI stuff. But I knew what I was talking about then and I still do now. The left has used our education system to train generations of soldiers and if we don't wrestle back our education system from insanity, we will be signing our own death warrants.

But hey, I love my country and every decent, law-abiding citizen I share it with.
There are many policy fights to be had, but I refuse to do it with outward anger and fermenting hate both just masking genuine disappointment and irrational embarrassment.

BREAKING: Starlink Mobile teams up with Qualcomm to build a nationwide U.S. 5G network.
SpaceX is combining Starlink satellites with ground-based 5G stations to keep people connected on their phones across America.
Here’s what’s planned:
• Deployment begins in 2027, with tens of thousands of sites planned over a multi-year agreement.
• Qualcomm’s Dragonwing QRU100 and QDU100 platforms will power the network’s radio and base station processing.
• Advanced radios with 64 transmit and 64 receive paths are designed to improve coverage and handle more data.
• More efficient use of wireless spectrum will help the network serve more people.
• Power-efficient technology will deliver more performance per watt, helping improve costs as the network grows.
• The partnership also lays groundwork for future AI-native 6G infrastructure.

This morning, our gauge has already registered 0.01 inches of rain, even as the broader forecast calls for sunshine.
Small observations like these help us better understand our mountain's changing conditions.

🌲 CaLandBird Daily Briefing | Wednesday, November 4, 2026
Frazier Mountain • Grapevine • Los Padres National Forest
Good morning from Frazier Mountain! 💙🌲
We have a few useful updates for the mountain communities this morning, including cooler weather, lingering wind and fog concerns along Interstate 5, and a local air-quality advisory.
The good news: temperatures are expected to warm as we head toward the weekend.
🌬️ 1. Frazier Mountain: Cooler Today, Warmer Weekend Ahead
@NWSHanford is forecasting below-normal temperatures today, with gusty winds continuing in some exposed mountain and desert-slope areas.
A warming trend is expected later this week, with above-average temperatures possible as we approach the weekend.
For Frazier Mountain, today is a good day to watch wind direction, peak gusts, humidity, and how quickly temperatures recover.

🚗 2. Grapevine / I-5: Wind and Dense Fog Remain Travel Concerns
@CaltransHQ continues to report two travel concerns along Interstate 5.
A high-wind advisory remains posted on portions of I-5 south of the Los Angeles/Kern County line.
A dense fog advisory also affects portions of the Kern County side of the Grapevine.
At the time of the latest highway report, no full closure of I-5 through the Grapevine was listed.
Drivers should be prepared for changing visibility and wind conditions through the pass.

🌫️ 3. Greater Frazier Park: Wood Burning Discouraged Today
Today’s air-quality guidance specifically lists Greater Frazier Park as “wood burning discouraged.”
This is not the same as a complete burn ban, but residents are being asked to limit fireplace and wood-stove use where possible.
Smoke can build up in mountain communities when atmospheric conditions keep it close to the ground.
For anyone sensitive to smoke or poor air quality, this is worth keeping in mind today.

🔥 4. Los Padres National Forest: Fire Restrictions Remain in Effect
The U.S. Forest Service continues to list fire danger as Very High across Los Padres National Forest.
Forest-wide fire-use restrictions remain in effect.
Recent rain and cooler temperatures do not automatically cancel those restrictions.
Campfires remain limited to designated developed sites, and portable gas stoves require a valid California Campfire Permit.
Current Los Padres alerts and restrictions:

🏕️ 5. Los Padres Recreation: New Operator Adds Visitor Services
Camp Los Padres / LPNF Recreation began managing developed campgrounds and day-use facilities across Los Padres National Forest on November 1.
The operator has now published visitor information, recreation fees, campground rules, and pass options.
One new option is a $50 annual day-use parking pass for participating facilities managed by the operator.
Existing reservations remain unchanged and continue through Recreation.gov.
This management change does not override Forest Service closures, fire restrictions, or access orders.

📡 Today’s CaLandBird Takeaway
Wednesday brings cooler temperatures and changing wind conditions across the Frazier Mountain region, followed by a warming trend toward the weekend.
Along Interstate 5, wind and dense fog remain the main travel concerns.
Residents should also note today’s recommendation to limit fireplace and wood-stove burning in Greater Frazier Park.
Existing Los Padres National Forest fire restrictions remain in place, while the forest’s new recreation operator continues rolling out visitor services and information.
Forecasts tell us what could happen. Observations tell us what did happen.
🌲 There is always something to discover, if we never stop looking.
🌲 Come enjoy the peace.

Thank you so much as well @RoxanneHoge And, thank you to everyone else who spent any amount of their time and $ in getting out the info in order to vote to save California and America 🇺🇲
So proud of @SteveHiltonx and everyone who ran statewide as @CAGOP, as well as all our @GOPLosAngeles candidates.
We won't have a final picture of the electorate until around Thanksgiving, so take a minute to rest & regroup.
So grateful for the USA.
Godspeed.

You didn't fight ANY Democrat obstruction - especially with nominees. You didn't codify EOs. You didn't pass the SAVE America Act. You're an irrelevant failure.
Over the last two years, Senate Republicans have put up a strong record of accomplishment that’s created safer streets, more money in Americans’ pockets, and new opportunities for families and businesses to get ahead. After fighting Democrat obstruction at every turn, we prevented the largest tax hike in American history, secured our border in an unprecedented way, confirmed the president’s Cabinet at the fastest pace in two decades, and put strong conservative judges on benches across the country faster than we have since the Reagan administration. I’m proud of our team and everything we’ve done for the American people, and I’m looking forward to the important work we have in front of us over the next few months. As we head into 2027, Senate Republicans will not stand idly by as the far-left, socialist wing of the Democrat Party attempts to unwind everything we’ve done. Thankfully, we still have President Trump in the White House, and we’ll work with him to stop the worst impulses of Democrat extremism. We cannot let their fringe positions become the mainstream.
