There’s nothing inherently wrong with wealth being concentrated in the hands of people who created enormous value through voluntary trade. The problem is when wealth and power are concentrated through political privilege—subsidies, protectionism, regulatory favors and government contracts.
And there’s something wonderfully ironic about Gavin Newsom complaining that too few people have too much power while advocating that politicians like Gavin Newsom have more power over everyone else’s money.
