NEW: UC San Diego has released a new report documenting a “steep decline in the academic preparedness” of its freshmen.
The number of entering students needing remedial math has exploded from 1/100 to 1/8.
They’ve had to create a second remedial class covering elementary and middle school math skills in addition to the one covering gaps from high school.

Math Academy begins with a diagnostic assessment and report that measures strengths and weaknesses in their current grade level but also identifies any missing foundational material from prior courses. We create a custom course that will then get them where they need to be.
Nationally, 90% of parents think their children are reading and doing math at or above grade level. In fact, only 26% of eighth graders are proficient or above in math and 31% are proficient or above in English, according to @BeALearningHero. #caedu
