State gives Pegulas, who dodge NYS income tax and live in FL, 100s of millions for @BuffaloBills stadium. Pegulas then donate money they apparently didn't have for a stadium to @KathyHochul, who gladly takes it. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Since Trump’s election:
-Musk got $617 billion richer
-Bezos got $144 billion richer
-Page got $127 billion richer
-Dell got $123 billion richer
-Brin got $116 billion richer
How are you doing?
Let’s stop oligarchy. We must create an economy that works for all.

Trickle-down assumes that if billionaires pay less in taxes, they'll hire more and pay more. But their goal was never to rescue workers from poverty. It's to maximize profit and spend as little as possible on everyone else.

Economist (and Nobel laureate) Paul Krugman: “Control of Starlink must, one way or another, be taken away from Elon Musk. It’s a matter of national security: we cannot let private individuals make foreign and defense policy, and it would be totally irresponsible to leave a crucial military asset in the hands of a racist, authoritarian conspiracy theorist.”

That's why housing shouldn't be a commodity and why those who don't labor for their livelihood are gaping assholes.
Tenants may not like this, but the landlord doesn't have to do anything to the property to ask for more rent come renewal.
It's their property. They can ask whatever they want.
Don't want to pay it? Counter.
Can't agree on terms? Move out.
That's the normal flow, and no legislation should get in the way of it.

Michael Dell: A 70% tax rate? "Name a country where that worked. Ever."
The United States, from 1936 to 1980.
Dumbass.🤦🏻♀️
Tax rates rose to 79% in 1936, rose up to 94% during WWII, fell to 82% in 1949, hovered at 91% from '51 to 63, and then stayed at 70% or above until 1980.
These rates drove us out of the depression and into powerhouse economies.
It was not until Reagan crashed the rates into the 30% range that we started accumulating massive debt and income inequality.
Facts matter.
And the facts show:
Republicans are not good for the economy.
Vote blue on Tuesday, November 3rd!🌊

"I don't understand why they're pushing AI so hard when we can all see it's making everything worse."
That's because it's not being marketed to you; it's being marketed to governments and plutocrats. They're the real target audience for these products, not you.
You are not receiving the real sales pitch for AI, because the real sales pitch would not appeal to your sensibilities. The real sales pitch for AI isn't "Hey check out this product, it makes some web searches slightly easier and it can maybe write your emails for you." The real sales pitch for AI is "This product allows you to surveil the entire population of your country. It can be built into autonomous surveillance drones and killing machines. It can allow you to monitor and control every aspect of your society. It can reverse the decentralization of information brought on by the internet age. It can take away the collective bargaining power of workers and give you the skilled services your company requires. It can nullify strikes, civil disobedience, and even full-scale revolutions, and lock humanity into your capitalist dystopia forever."
That's the real sales pitch. It doesn't sound appealing to any normal person, but it makes sense when you remember who these technologies are really being sold to, and why.

PLEASE I need someone to tell corporate economists that infinite growth on a finite planet is the exact logic of a cancer cell.

Your computer will be some kind of dumb terminal incapable of running anything more demanding than Notepad, and you'll need to connect to a data centre to get anything done under this glorious future envisaged by the tech bros.
Everyone in this town balks at smaller homes as an affordable housing solution. Instead, $250k subsidies for low income 1st time homebuyers for suburban homes in the city and $900k/unit for a white vanity project on the East Side are normalized

We don't need more academic research. We know where the lots are. We know what the code allows. We know the need.
What we need is the will to rethink this nonsense. We build what grants and programs allow, not always what we need and what fits our context.
