Honest question. If it’s raining outside, why aren’t the odds of rain today 100%?

Has this guy ever heard of taking starter positions and only increasing exposure when those positions move in his favor?
Leopold Aschenbrenner's biggest positions are getting hit again Here's what his top holdings done since October highs: • SanDisk $SNDK: down 19% • Bloom Energy $BE: down 6% • Nebius $NBIS: down 11% • CoreWeave $CRWV: down 13% • Micron $MU: down 14% • SharonAI $SHAZ: down 30% SanDisk and Micron are 55% of the fund, per Q2 13F In July, a drawdown like this triggered a forced sale of his book to Citadel

El Salvador is on track to be the safest country in the world. How are they doing it? Simple. They lock up criminals. That's it. Most crimes are committed by repeat offenders. Lock them up, and they can't commit more crimes.
El Salvador homicide update: The country is on track to have its lowest year ever, with just 60% of the homicide rate of stereotypically-peaceful Canada. The country is now *very* safe.

The late-2018 low date stands out.
One year off the midterm year max pullback has seen stocks never lower and up close to 32% on average. In 2026, that would be March 30 and the S&P 500 is up about 18% off of those lows. Yet another potentially bullish development.

Breadth has been deteriorating for two months. Are we going to have a repeat of 2018?
The new all-time high on the S&P 500 last week came on a day in which new lows exceeded new highs. That combination hasn't happened often in the past and when it has it usually signals an uptick in volatility and weakness in the index - not a sudden turn around in breadth.

We’re not very good this year, but at least we’re nice people. #goillini

My wife teaches third grade. Her kids learn this.
I made an unsettling discovery in my undergraduate class on financial planning last week. While explaining mortgages, I asked my 38 students this question: if you buy a $400,000 house and pay 20% in cash towards the purchase, what will be the amount that you finance? Not a single student could tell me the answer. Despite the fact that they are all juniors and seniors majoring in business. I added more questions: what is 30 percent of 80? 60 percent of 90? They didn’t know. The closest they got was when one student said, in response to my query of “40% of 70”, that “I know it’s 4 times 7 but I don’t remember what that is.” Another student helpfully added, “28.” They explained to me why they couldn’t answer these math questions: they were never taught multiplication tables, percentages or fractions during their K-12 schooling. Instead, they were taught how to use a calculator. Without one, they are not able to do basic arithmetic. I later asked the dean about this, and he lamented that this isn’t a thing just for our university’s students; it’s a thing for their entire generation, nationwide. When I was in K-12, the fierce debate among parents and educators was whether to allow calculators in class. The calculators won. Today, the debate is about AI. And like before, the tech will win. But will that truly be a victory? Rowan University #college #math #loans #CFP #financialplanning

Thank you!
I just had such a sad interaction. Grabbing lunch. Young woman checking me out asked where my accent is from. I said Australia. She asked, "no offense, but why would you move here?" It's so crazy to me how much some Americans don't seem to understand how good they have it here. America has inbuilt freedoms. Inbuilt opportunity. It has so, so many things that other Western countries do not. That's not to say there aren't awesome things about other Western countries. There are. But America is pretty awesome too. It makes me sad people don't see that or have any pride in where they come from.

Now the truth finally comes out that the state of New York wants the Amish people‘s properties and land so they can build their data centers. How disgusting 🤮 The Amish of Central New York told the seditious Governor Kathy Hochul they would pack up, abandon their farms and leave if the Governor tried forcing vaccines on their children. The Governor fined them over $100,000 and demanded they comply anyway. When the Amish decided to fight back, taking the wicked Governor to court, Hochul's minion Senator Fahy drew up even more legislation to pressure them to leave, attacking their children again, this time through an anti-homeschooling bill. Tens of thousands of acres of cleared Amish farmland are at stake. The Amish have spent decades clearing their land by hand and horse. The hard work has been done. But if the Governor has her way, the Amish will be forced to sell that cleared land to the solar farms and data centers knocking on the doors for it. Who will help the Amish stand up to this maniacal Governor? We need to expose this on social media and we need to get the right people involved to represent the Amish and help them fight This evil demonic power and control of New York.
