That We are cork facebook page has over 100k followers but has been spreading nasty hate for awhile. I mentioned in a reply to someone on an anti-racism video that he was an embarrassment to cork and suddenly he started threatening me via dm (on TikTok) & sharing lies online ✋🏻

While scrolling TikTok last night, one thing was glaringly missing, Garron Noone. Please feel free to use this as your profile picture, imagine if we could get everyone to it! #GarronNoone #garronnooneisstilldelicious #Garron

Garren, in case you get to see this, you have a great gift and talent (I have seen one of your birthday messages to an extended family member & it had me rolling). What you said was reasonable, measured ‘of the people’ and just the truth. Don’t let the little tyranny of mediocrity get you upset, they have no real power over you. You are skilled & talented & you have no need of their approval. I wish you much future success, you’ll have it, you put the work in.

Garron Noone is an ordinary person. People pushed for his point of view and he shared it. The more you demonise public debate, the more isolated you’re making your argument and the support for it. I hope for all your sakes that he has the right support around him tonight.

The engine of democracy is the competition of ideas. The best ideas percolate to the top and become policy. The silencing of majority views by a minority is authoritarian & damages that democracy. Garron Noone is a fine comedian & should be allowed speak.

I’ve been working on this with @ChoiceCuts for the last few weeks & I’m really excited that it’s now becoming a reality! The reality is this is the music which has shaped our lives and we are presenting something very special at @StPetersCork for the @corkjazzfest festival.
