🚀 1. Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game (Reprint Announcement)
• THE NEWS: Ghost Galaxy is officially releasing a new, updated edition of the classic 2008 hidden-traitor board game originally designed by Corey Konieczka and published by Fantasy Flight Games.
• KEY DETAILS:
→ Partnership: Developed by @GhostGalaxyGam1 in official partnership with @UniversalPics and @FFGames.
→ Launch Timeline: Coming to crowdfunding in early 2027.
→ Leadership: Christian T. Petersen (CEO of Ghost Galaxy and original founder/CEO of FFG) is personally overseeing the project to ensure the "new edition will make a great game design even better".
→ Expansion Status: When asked by BGG's W. Eric Martin about whether original expansions are included, Ghost Galaxy's marketing coordinator responded: "We have no further details to share at this time."
• MARKET IMPACT: The news has caused immediate ripples in the secondary market. Roughly 14 copies of the rare out-of-print FFG edition hit the BGG GeekMarket within a week of the news (compared to a typical average of 2 per month), with some local listings dropping base game prices significantly as players try to offload older sets before the new version drops.

TOP 3 SOLO RPG EXPERIENCES
Its a broad genre, so I capped this to:
"Top Tactical Dungeon Crawlers"
🎲Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne
⟶ The Loop: Procedural mapping, item attrition (managing torches/rations), and punishing d100 combat tables.
⟶ Why it's top: It dominates community discussions for players who want "a game they can genuinely lose" without relying heavily on writing down stories.
⟶ @DriveThruRPG , @amazon & @itchio
🎲🎲Four Against Darkness
⟶ The Loop: Classic dungeon-delving where you control a party of four characters using simple pen-and-paper mapping & world building rules.
⟶ Why it's top: A massive ecosystem of cheap expansions on DriveThruRPG keeps it as an evergreen entry point for tactical players.
⟶ @DriveThruRPG , @amazon , @itchio & @ganeshagames
🎲🎲🎲D100 Dungeon
⟶ The Loop: A highly crunchy, chart-heavy solo system purely driven by d100 tables for items, combat modifiers, and map generation.
⟶ Why it's top: Highly favoured in the community that want an experience similar to old-school computer roguelikes.
⟶ @DriveThruRPG, @Amazon, @Steam, @thegamecrafter & @_MK_Games_
Special Mention
The Top Solo RPG right now is Ironsworn: Starforged which is the same system as the original Ironsworn which actually kicked of the very first worldbuilding / journaling exercise that became the #UnderpunksRPG , but I left it off this list because its heavy on story writing rather than gameplay!
Vampire: The Masquerade – The Complete Publisher Timeline
This gets confusing but stick with me...
🩸 1991–2011: The Original White Wolf & CCP Era
* 1991: White Wolf Publishing launches the original gothic-punk TTRPG. Multiple editions and a heavy metaplot dominate the '90s and early 2000s.
* 2004: The original storyline officially ends with the Time of Judgment event. Chronicles of Darkness (Vampire: The Requiem, etc.) takes over as the primary focus.
* 2006: CCP Games merges with and acquires White Wolf Publishing. Tabletop production slowly scales down as staff are transitioned to develop a cancelled World of Darkness MMO.
🩸 2011–2012: Onyx Path Publishing Steps In
* 2011: White Wolf (under CCP) releases the V20 (20th Anniversary Edition) core book to wild success, marking its final internal print product.
* 2012: Ex-White Wolf developer Rich Thomas founds Onyx Path Publishing, officially taking over development of the legacy lines via a licensing deal. They spend the next six years expanding V20 with massive community-favourite supplements like Chicago by Night and Beckett’s Jyhad Diary.
🩸 2015: Paradox Interactive Acquires the Entire World of Darkness IP
* Paradox buys the rights from CCP Games and forms a new, independent White Wolf subsidiary to design the next generation of the game.
🩸 2018: V5 (Fifth Edition) Launches Under Modiphius Entertainment
* Initial Run: White Wolf develops the core rules, using Modiphius Entertainment for distribution and initial line management. Onyx Path is brought along to write key V5 sourcebooks.
* December 2018: Following severe controversies over in-house book content, Paradox scales back the internal White Wolf studio. Full brand and license management is handed completely to Modiphius.
🩸 2020: Renegade Game Studios Takes Over Management
* In November, Paradox moves the master publishing license away from Modiphius, naming Renegade Game Studios as the new developer and publisher for the entire World of Darkness line.
🩸 2025: The White Wolf Brand Officially Returns
* Paradox resurrects the White Wolf name, fully rebuilding it as its dedicated, internal development studio.
🩸 July 2026: V6 Is Officially Announced
* The upcoming edition features overhauled systems and a streamlined alpha playtest launched on Demiplane.
🩸 End of 2026: The Partner Era Closes
* The Renegade partnership ends, and White Wolf moves all publishing, retail distribution, and creative development fully in-house starting in January 2027.
Note: V6 is currently in active development with no firm release date yet.
Its a great game, so here's hoping the eventually get this right! 🤞

Cyberpunk TCG Quick Status:
1. Massive Kickstarter (Mar-Apr 2026) pulled ~$28M. Backer product started shipping in Sept from @weirdco .
2. Pre-releases are happening now.
"Response is strong on fun, art and developer responsiveness. Broader TCG audiences remain sceptical about the dice system and long-term viability in an already crowded market."
3. Full retail of Set 1 Welcome to Night City drops Nov 6 - focused on Cyberpunk 2077 characters (V, Johnny, Judy, Jackie, etc.).
4. Set 2 Edgerunners: Burn Bright (the @netflix anime crew) is already locked for Spring 2027 (pre-release ~Mar 26, release ~Apr 2).

#UnderpunksRPG is releasing 16 new ownable spacecraft:
- LYC Trigger, LYC Scout, LYC Lancer, LYC Galleon
- MRT Tempest, MRT Sentinel, MRT Leviathan, MRT Goliath
- QNX Thread, QNX Seeker, QNX Lattice, QNX Godhead
- PRV Terror, PRV Stalker, PRV Lurker, PRV Gargantua
These align with the 4 main spacefaring factions:
1. The Lycanox (humanoid wererats)
2. The Martians (new-human)
3. The Quantum Nexus (Ai Robots)
4. The Promethean Revenants (Mutant Pirates)
Is The Gundam Assemble #Miniatures #Wargame for you?
THE PROS:
1. Small model count (3v3 or 5v5) = Short, punchy skirmish games.
2. Hex-based movement on provided maps = Clean tactical positioning with no physical measuring.
3. No traditional turns = Dynamic activation system where power moves - delay a model's next attack.
4. Combat relies on D10 dice pools to hit = Fast resolution with just one roll and a lot of dice to roll per combat interaction.
5. Dead models can redeploy = Death is not final, keeping everyone in the fight and mitigating early wipeouts.
6. Objective-dense maps = Constantly changing victory point tactics, buffs, and penalties.
7. Card-driven interrupt and reaction tactics = Signature moves create highly memorable cinematic moments.
8. Battleship-class units available in Deluxe Sets = Deploy iconic ships like the White Base as support pieces in 5v5 scenarios.
9. Snap-fit assembly = Build your own squad of ~5 cm Gunpla in minutes without needing plastic glue.
10. Starter set is great value at ~$35 USD = Includes everything needed out of the box at an accessible $5.83 per model.
THE CONS:
1. Deluxe expansion sets jump to ~$120 USD = Steep financial curve at $12.00 per model.
2. Fixed mono-pose models = The push-fit architecture results in a generic look across duplicate collections.
3. Fixed hex-grid system = Feels closer to a board game, which may alienate traditional sandbox wargamers.
4. Unpredictable long-term support = The ever-present risk of Bandai treating it as a "board game in a box" rather than a living system.
5. Clunky cardboard terrain = Out-of-the-box terrain requires manual hot-gluing to be structurally viable.
6. Heavy token loadout = Visually cluttered hex maps disrupt the classic thematic immersion of a wargame.
7. Chunky mold lines = Heavy cleanup required; hobbyists transitioning from premium sprues will need sanding sticks.
8. Bandai's volatile supply chain = Limited production runs?? may introduce immediate distribution, stock shortage, and scalping risks.
9. Monochromatic, unpainted plastic = Lacks the multicoloured runners traditional Gunpla builders expect.
10. Competing directly with #Battletech and its 40 years of tabletop history.
MY OPINION
The gameplay looks fantastic and the constant victory swings and comebacks should solve the usual #Wargaming sufferance of early-game victories leaving the loser feeling exhausted by an agonisingly prolonged defeat, while robbing the winner of a genuinely satisfying, hard-earned triumph.

👆My biggest gripe with #wargames at the moment.
I'm not worried about product abandonment as its not a secondary company licensing the #gundam IP.
I'm not worried about cheap cardboard terrain. Easy enough to get 3D printed upgrades.
My very personal issue is - "I would have loved it if the models had of come in multicoloured plastic as I'm constantly travelling and carrying a full paint set around is not an option for me."

A huge shoutout to @Justin_Gary and his excellent game design! ❤️

One of the most distinct parts of The Expanse is the Belt and its language. For The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, we worked with the very same people responsible for the show’s Belter language: Nick Farmer, who created Lang Belta, the Belt's unique creole language, and Roberto Campanella, the choreographer behind Belter gestures.
