Today in Mexico, celebrations have begun for a very cherished occasion: the start of the "Día de Los muertos." Today is "Día de todos los santos," a day dedicated to children to those little angels who left us far too soon, to those precious, tiny beings who have passed away.
It might seem like a sad day, but in Mexico, we honor our departed loved ones with *ofrendas* (offerings of food, sweets, and things they enjoyed). We do so with a sense of nostalgia, yet also with the joy that comes from keeping their memory alive.
November 2nd is All Souls' Day (for adolescents, adults, and the elderly).
I share this so that people from other countries can learn a little more about my traditions.🥰

And just like that, the jack o’lanterns have flickered out. The dead have returned to their slumber. And in a moonlit cemetery, our favorite little mischief demon is saying goodbye.
For now.
Goodbye Sam
Don't cry because Halloween is over. Smile because you survived it.

Here’s a story for you. We started filming without owning the title and had to do alternates.
Taft Broadcasting owned the title Ghostbusters as part of their half-hour sitcom starring Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker (F-Troop) and a gorilla chasing ghosts. I had never heard of it. They didn’t have proton packs or Bill Murray. Columbia paid $500,000 to buy the name, but they really should have paid Dean Martin, from whom I first heard the term.
In the film Scared Stiff (1953), he and Jerry Lewis (check out his acrobatic stair descent) are in an old haunted castle, and Lizabeth Scott asks Dean: “Who are you guys?” And Dean answers: “You’ve heard of Trustbusters and Gangbusters, we’re Ghostbusters!”
For my research writing the first movie, I watched every single ‘ghost’ comedy ever made. Bowery Boys, Hope and Crosby, Abbot and Costello, Martin and Lewis all did such films.
Happy Halloween 2026.
