Agree. Anyone that reports on “how” the Pope voted (which means at least one person broke the law), is a tabloid reporter.
I do not think it is prudent, wise, or even particularly fair to the Holy Father to report on his requesting of a mail in ballot. I’m equally frustrated that the Will County clerk’s office even shared that information. And beyond that, the way it’s already being twisted to try and label Pope Leo, with speculation about how he voted in the past, is concerning.
People will manipulate this. Someone will try to take a photo of the ballot, which is illegal, but I can almost guarantee folks would try and acquire it to try and claim the Pope is on their political side. Bad actors will twist any aspect of this, as some already are, and it benefits no one who is operating in good faith.
