A few years ago, I designed Gronika for the new identity of the city of Groningen, The Netherlands. A quirky all-caps sans serif typeface.
From Wim Crouwel’s Gridnik to local signage, it combines many influences to form a workhorse that can be seen all over the city.

Doorbell cam in the UK. Two boys walk up nervously and knock to ask the owner about the black Supra in his driveway. Instead of shooing them off, he takes them over, pops the hood and fires it up so they can hear it. According to the narration, they reminded him of how his own love of cars started.
Kids hanging around your car usually means trouble. These two did it the right way: walked up, knocked, asked. And the owner met that respect with a memory those boys will have for the rest of their lives. That's two good decisions back to back, and it's rarer than it should be.
If my boys ever see a car like that, I want them asking first just like these two did, and I hope they meet a guy like Alan.
Manners open doors, and hoods.
The design X trend of posting a new project as 20 images in a GIF, each displayed for approximately 0.2 seconds, is an interesting approach.
It's been a challenge but very satisfying to teach myself variable type and working with masters. Steadily getting the hang of it.
Work in progress grotesk typeface, Manometre. Inspired by grotesques from the 20th century. Started as an exercise in variable type design, but I thought I might as well keep working on it. Currently only experimented with the weight axis, but will add width/slope later.
A pack with 10 classy Mid-Century Modern poster mockups I made recently. I tried to really make them pop! For now it's only available for purchase on Gumroad until I eventually set up my own store as well.

In honor of Alien: Isolation getting a sequel, as well as Alien: Romulus, I did a fun little low poly render of the motion tracker from Isolation in Blender. Beep beep.
When I designed the app feature fictional 80's/90's movie end credit brand logos, I made end credits with them too, but we never ended up doing anything with it. Here it is anyway! (turn on sound) :)
