Since it's now on the publisher's website, I guess I'm finally allowed to share about my book, coming from @KentStateUPress in January 2025: kentstateuniversitypress.com…
*has problem*
*psychatrist prescribes medication*
*pharmacy won't fill it because insurance won't cover it*
*call insurance to ask about it*
*insurance says you can request special authorization or something and see if they'll make an exception for you*
*does that*
... 1/
*insurance says no, we won't cover it unless you can--I kid you not--document that you've tried literally every alternative drug for the same condition within the past year*

I love how Gul Dukat, the pathological liar/interstellar despot/demon worshipper/egomaniac villain, sometimes just randomly sounds like Donald Trump. 🤣
There is a fine line between likeable ditz and obnoxious idiot, and many anime protagonists are on the wrong side. 🤣

I'm really tired of seeing evil "Roman Catholic Church with the serial numbers filed off" as villains in anime and light novels.
I always feel sort of mean taking screenshots of typos in anime subtitles, but they just amuse me so much I can't help it 🤣
I feel so nostalgic every time I see a variation of this meme. The original photo is from the campus of TCU, right outside the building where I had most of my classes.
I *love* being reminded of the old Star Wars EU trilogy "The Bounty Hunter Wars."
The author, one K. W. Jeter, tried incredibly hard to write a story depicting Boba Fett as cool and cunning, a protagonist who outsmarted his foes at every turn.
The author failed. Epically. 1/
It taught me that writing clever characters is actually quite challenging, and it gave me more respect for authors who actually succeed in making one of their characters seem cunning. 4/
I ran across this excellent word today: Pecksniffian
