Most curious thing is people thinking programming would survive. It was, and is, one of the lowest hanging fruits for AI.
AI might be the answer to the Fermi paradox. Perhaps exponential growth of intelligence is the rule, and, considering we haven’t seen anything else out there, the conclusion might be that intelligence won’t lead us out there.
After passing away, you are told your curse, or your blessing, is that you live your life over and over again for infinity. Are you happy, sad, scared? What would you change?

I've noticed that comments on topics outside my expertise often appear somewhat reasonable. However, when I read comments on subjects within my expertise, nearly every comment seems completely ignorant.
Hm..

I dont envy the youth of today
No one in the 1900s or early 2000s was concerned about political activism, there was no social media to be addicted to,
and the idea that you needed to have a following to have credibility and worth as a person, didnt exist...

2/2 Mao’s instruments of terror were The Red Guards—a mass student-led paramilitary social movement. These violent ideologues pulled down statues, destroyed holy sites, and humiliated and murdered those who dissented.
Globalization is a high-risk, high-reward strategy. A rational investor generally aims for a diversified portfolio with compartmentalized areas of investment. Why bet it all on single high-risk, high-reward option? The #coronavirus is a great example of systemic risk.
Out in nature, feeling the sun on my skin, the breeze, and the complete silence. It’s a peculiar thing seeing the world like this with the chaos evolving. The world was fine before us and it will be fine after us.

MEGATHREAD TIME: In 40 tweets I will describe 40 powerful concepts for understanding the world. Some are complex so forgive me for oversimplifying, but the main purpose is to incite curiosity. Okay, here we go:
Christianity is smarter than I, or you, will ever be. Buddhism is smarter than you or I, Hinduism is smarter than you or I. Do not underestimate that which you do not fully understand. The collective wisdom of generations contains nuances not easily seen.
