Being a photographer, I've obviously always been on the side of artists when it comes to AI art. I can appreciate the value of AI-generated artwork to an extent, but if someone has the time/money to employ an artist, they're doing the world a disservice by not doing so. That said, the irony of people creating massive online pile-ons whenever they see AI art is immense. Where do you think your morally-outraged Tweets are hosted? They're in some massive data centre somewhere, humming away. Using the exact same water and power resources as the sins you're shouting about. Run by the exact same massive tech corporations. The average person's hourly streaming/gaming/social media activity drains far more resources than a single AI-generated image, but you don't see anyone working themselves into a moral froth about folks watching Netflix. We're all sending the world to hell in a handcart, let's at least be honest about it.
