wsj.com/opinion/all-the-news… Sadly, @nytimes long ago opted for advocacy journalism over objective journalism on its once highly-respected news pages.

Should have happened years ago. Ivies compete for national titles in all other sports. There was no good reason football wasn't one of them.

First, there were major problems with the Washington Bridge. Now, The RiBridges system was hacked and the personal data of hundreds of thousands of Rhode Islanders was stolen by cybercriminals. I'd say it's a bridge too far to expect @GovDanMcKee to be re-elected.

#JerodMayo is the latest in a looong list of former assistants to #BillBelichick who have struggled to win as #NFL head coaches, joining the likes of Josh McDaniels, Matt Patricia, Eric Mangini, Romeo Crennell, Joe Judge, Brian Daboll, and Brian Flores. Doesn't speak well for BB.

To win a Super Bowl, it helps to be lucky - particularly in regard to injuries - as well as good. Would love to see @Lions play for the #NFL title, but think they're too banged up to get to the Big Game.

Kristaps Porzingis isn't the definition of "durable." Among the amazing things about #TomBrady is that, with the exception of the '08 season, he NEVER missed a start because of injury in his 23-year, #NFL career. Some guys are distressingly "injury-prone." @Celtics @Patriots

Although they're in the same state, @NDFootball and @IndianaFootball have played just once since 1958, and that was back in 1991. The Irish & Hoosiers did play regularly in the '50s. Notre Dame has played much more often against another instate rival - @BoilerFootball

Once was an NCAA hoops coach who, when asked at press conference at regionals if, in his wildest dreams, he ever thought his team would reach the Elite Eight, replied: "My wildest dreams aren't about basketball."

Been a lot of chat on "X," wondering why @Patriots didn't have rookie Drake Maye try QB sneak on short yardage vs. @AZCardinals. How about letting him run out of the shotgun in that situation, like Army QB Bryson Daily?

burlingtonfreepress.com/stor… Recruited well in Europe. Winning goal by a German. Tying goal by Hungarian. Goalkeeper from Germany. Key goal in semis by an Israeli.

We see shots of the Krafts, father and son, just about every week, but don't often see other owners. I wonder why that is. #NFL

Wish CBS had offered the option of watching Lions vs. Bills, instead of being locked into Pats vs. Cards on CBS. Sigh. #NFL

Sums up @Bengals season.

It's 23-3 and I can't watch any more. Remember, @Patriots had two weeks to prepare to play this mediocre @AZCardinals team. #NFL

I just shake my head watching @Patriots. Twice, in shadow of goal posts, Pats can't gain even a yard and turn the ball over on downs. Next possession, a silly turnover when Cardinals intercept a ball that goes through hands of a NE receiver. It's painful. And pathetic. #NFL

Sort of. A better summation of the season would include a holding penalty. 😄

Classic @Patriots start: Move the ball, drive killed by holding penalty, kicker misses FG. @AZCardinals use good field position to move to FG booted by a former Pats kicker. (Pats new guy misses, old Pats guy makes). On Pats next possession - LT Lowe can't pass block, Maye sacked

Nothing but @BIGEASTMBB games ahead the rest of the way for @PCFriarsmbb, who are 0-3 vs. @atlantic10 opponents. Time for Friars to get their act together.

Coach Charles Huff left for So. Mississippi after leading the Thundering Herd to the Sun Belt title, prompting mass player movement to the portal and resulting in withdrawal from bowl game vs. @ArmyWP_Football, which now will play La. Tech (5-7 this season). Sad situation.

As a former Navy officer, and the son of a Navy aviator who flew dive bombers in WW II, and the nephew of a Navy captain, I was delighted to see the Midshipmen trounce Army this afternoon, 34-13. Army QB Bryson Daily was highly hyped, but outplayed today by Navy QB Blake Horvath.
