#BMY 1.7mm seems like a big number
EXCLUSIVE: “A Court of Splintered Harmony,” the sixth book in Sarah J. Maas' blockbuster fantasy series “A Court of Thorns and Roses,” sold 1.7 million copies on its release date.
That's up 600% from the release day sales for “ACOTAR” Book 5, “A Court of Silver Flames,” in 2021.
“When I write, I’m only thinking about the characters and the stories I want to tell,” Maas said in a statement to Variety. “To see how much these books mean to so many people and the way readers have shown up for this one really blows my mind. It’s a feeling I can’t even comprehend, but I’m just beyond grateful.”

#BMY SJM new releases at #1 and 3 in the Amazon Best Selling Fiction List is welcome but her back catalogue also featuring at #7, 11, 19, 25 and 27 is utterly heartwarming
This from newest holding #SUS really is significant as they switch to a securitisation funding model. This offers substantially higher leverage and could easily take them to their aspirational double receivable balance in quick order without requiring capital retention. 1/
#BMY H1 Adj PBT comes in quite a bit lower than I had reckoned .. must’ve carried an extra number over .. they expect to clock record FY profits.. still think this year is very much undercooked - will have to wait I suppose
#BMY Bloomsbury Publishing announce interims tmrw morning - Adj PBT should land around 25m however that is a side show with the first of two Sarah J Maas ACOTAR books coming next week .. the last time she released a book it added about 30m PBT split across two financial years 1/

That release was from her Crescent City series which is much less popular that ACOTAR (Good Read total reviews are 5x larger for ACOTAR, mirroring Tik Tok activity rates).. they were kind enough to nudge PBT estimates 5mm higher in March but I expect them to eventually 2/

#TFW $TFW.L I spoke too soon.. further explanation in today’s (excellent) annual report .. increasingly confident in growth prospects at FW Thorpe
Fascinated to find out more about #TFW Thorlux’s Vionis product. Given they’ve gone to the bother of trademarking it, I think they are too. No mention of this in FY results - I like when companies have (positive) secrets..

its probably not written down anywhere but I'm pretty sure this is against the rules for leaders of permanent members of the security council..
Replying to @JamesMelville
I know this isn’t a silver bullet. It might help some people find cheaper fuel, but it doesn’t mean that’s all we’re doing to help people with the cost of living.
We’re cutting VAT on electricity bills. Capping bus fares at £2 in England. Giving disabled people 24/7 free bus travel. Making it easier to cancel subscriptions. Cutting business rates for pubs, clubs and music venues. Stopping schools from demanding endless expensive branded uniforms. Ensuring if your train is cancelled, you can use your ticket on other operators free of charge. Fuel duty is staying frozen to the end of the year.
Yes, on their own, I accept that these things don’t seem like much when people’s lives have gotten harder. There’s a lot still to do.
But I won’t shy away from the big issues either. It’s why I made announcements last week on more public control of water, energy, and housing, to make the basics better for people long-term.
Together, these changes add up, and no matter how small it may seem, I will pull every single lever I can to help people, whenever I can.
