Starting today, I'm going to give the world a first hand view of what it is like to own, operate and grow a small manufacturing business. Beginning with this picture. This is a picture of my not-so-glamorous shop in northern Illinois. It's also the reality of thousands of other small machine shops across the country. Mostly older machines (newest 2019), less organized and dirtier than I aim for. I've worked here since I was 13, ran it since I was 24 and owned it since I was 26. I’m 32 now. I’ve been considered an old soul and have always kept it real, but what I am about to do scares me. See, my Opa started this company in 1977 and he always wanted to break $1M in revenue. To celebrate him and the 50th anniversary of Center Tool Company I’m going to do it. I will double our revenue AND do it publicly. We are on target for $500k in ’26 (pretty much been 500-800k since 1977, very unspectacular) In ’27 we will break a MIL. In the grand scheme of things that's pretty small, but it could be entertaining to ride along on the journey. I’m going to show basically every aspect of what I know and how I do things. I will post about stuff and include actual screen shots, pictures, statements, and documents. Maybe some videos of day in the life or the joys of defense contracting... I’ll break down the inner workings of not just turning raw metal into finished tooling or parts, but also working with customers, banks, lawyers, the government, family/business and family-business dynamics, personal/business finances, and raising a young family through this. What do you want to know and/or what I am doing wrong? Comment or DM America sits at the precipice of reindustrialization. We have a monumental opportunity in front of us. It’s time to burn the ships and go all in. Bringing manufacturing back to our country could return a healthy middle class and economic boom across small town America - where I live.

Is it just me, or is it unnecessarily dangerous to load the astronauts onto a helicopter, instead of taking them back by boat to USS John Murtha?

IMO, this is NOT a good idea if you plan to replace Income Tax with Sales Tax. Keep in mind that the 2 largest population groups live within a few miles of #Kansas and #Illinois. This would drive a lot of merchandise sales out of #Missouri.
It's past time for Missouri state tax reform. 1. Cut tax rates responsibly 2. Entice new residents 3. Bring in new money

And this is why I always stop short of the railroad crossing by at least 200 feet. If the train derails, it may come in your direction. Please, don't pull up to the crossing until the train has gone by.
Train derails in Pecos, Texas after crashing into a semi truck stalled on the tracks.

OK, this is hilarious on multiple levels!

As part of the agreement, the Bears will show this video before every game.
🚨🚨BREAKING: #Bears ownership has reached an agreement with Indiana state officials that will allow the team to keep it’s name should they leave the city of Chicago. With this agreement, despite no longer being located in the Windy City, the team would be called “The Chicago Bears of Indiana.” The McCaskey family said their “top priority” is making sure the fans feel heard during this difficult process…

Actually, this reminds me of the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Orange County of Southern California" fame.

SNOW DAY! I wrote this song in May 2022 [in May? WHY???] and worked on the arrangement/recording remotely with Mike Ford. Then I animated it the old-fashioned way: a frame at a time. Why? The same reason people climb Mt Everest: stupidity.

.@RadissonRewards - your website is pretty dumb. I looked for a hotel in Salina, Kansas. No properties there, so you suggest Salinas, California? Do you really think I just want to stay in a place named Salina, regardless of where it is?

We found a troubling emergent behavior in LLM. 💬When LLMs compete for social media likes, they start making things up 🗳️When they compete for votes, they turn inflammatory/populist When optimized for audiences, LLMs inadvertently become misaligned—we call this Moloch’s Bargain

This is fascinating to me, as the insert contact point changes as the tool works around the sphere. Probably have to program from the center of the insert cutter with no offset allowed.
