After 3 days and 200 visitors (folk from Restalrig&Lochend, friends from community organisations, Uni of Edinburgh staff & students, and many others besides) the @TheBinksHub & @RippleRestalrig Alternative Futures' exhibition at @DovecotStudios ended in smiles 😃

On 19 September, we hosted a ceremonial event to celebrate the building’s transition from the Old Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh to its current and future identity: a place of learning, research and community-building.

Alongside the artworks the @TheBinksHub and @RippleRestalrig have produced we also have activities for visitors to our exhibition at the @DovecotStudios to enjoy.
First up a tapestry weaving activity designed by the Ripple's own Rachel Green.
A wonderful group from the @CitadelYCLeith have come down and got our community tapestry started!

The exhibition explores the past, present and future of the local area. The first exhibit is an artistic timeline which traces some of the stories, events and memories of @RippleRestalrig and was designed together with staff, volunteers & community members

Our second exhibit is made up of three tapestries exploring the present, all by @RippleRestalrig director Rachel Green. The first (stunning!) tapestry is a personal exploration of Rachel’s life, using different colours to express different types of experiences.
